"This was my 1st Modular building, and I am hooked. The build was a lot of fun, and there were some interesting techniques. Building the water barrel, that goes on the roof, was very different, and turned out amazing looking! The details inside were top notch. I highly recommend this set."
"Looking back on the history of the modular series, the intent was to offer a series to AFOLs and TFOLs with a more mature subject matter. Never forgetting that Lego is a toy, the folks at Lego seem to be steering the modular line more towards children and away from adults. The Detective's Office (DO) spends far too much effort on a needless storyline and playability features. This should be an AFOL product, but it's more like a City product.
The colors don't work. The blue on the right side of the building is garish and the color of bricks on the pool hall side is a unpleasant beige tone. The colors in the building not only are bad, but they fight with each other.
The designer appears to have designed an elaborate interior. When finished with the interior, he was surprised to find that he didn't have enough left in his budget to build an exterior building that would house his over the top interior. The interior winds up being cramped and the actual building ends up being small and looking out of place next to the other modulars.
Please put the modular series back on an AFOL level. No gratuitous story lines, no interiors that waste parts that would better be spent on the actual building. If your intention is to continue to move the modular series towards a children's market, then please expand the architecture series to include larger and more complex sets."
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am sorry the Detective's Office did not meet the expectations that the modular series has set for you. I am glad to hear that the interior detail was exceptional but that the color scheme did not appeal.
While the storyline might not necessarily appeal to every builder a story has existed with every set as it is these stories that drive the designers to create them. Like the designers, builders can create their own stories to complement each of their sets.

"The latest in the modular building series, is once again a nice addition to my modular building streets. Have all of these, very detailed and fun to build, wish Lego would build much more complicated and much larger sets, specifically for us old guys to enjoy."
"This is my first Creator Expert build and 2nd Lego build. (The first being about 400 bricks) With that said I am still new to building but Creator made it fun with the easy to follow instructions. I especially appreciated the red outlines of where bricks were to be placed. I watched the Creator video before building and that made it more exciting to build as I knew the story behind the many aspects of the build. All the little details were amazing to me, from the fan that spins around in the pool hall, the swivel chairs and the amazing designs of the building! This was so fun building and now I am hooked on Creator builds! I would highly recommend them to everyone!"
