"My daughters and I had fun building this set. It's a cool build that has wonderful details and nice rooms. The ceiling fan, pool table, and lots of little secret compartments are adorable. It's going to be a nice addition to our growing town, but we were disappointed that the base was an ugly brown instead of green for grass in the back."

"This set is great. It continues TLG's Modular Building Series. I got this set for Christmas; and I built it shortly after. LEGO put alot of detail in this set.
This set is definitely for adults, and not small children, because there is not much to play with here. I placed this set in my city layout, with its couterparts."

"Overall, the Detective’s Office has been a wonderful and exciting build. This model does a really good job of capturing a regular scene and making it into a beautiful LEGO building. The building has many cool features, but my favorite probably would have to be the detectives office. The office is designed very nicely, and makes it look very real. Here are some of the nice features in this model: - The theme - Prohibition. Instead of alcohol, LEGO uses cookies. The little area above the office bakes them and then secretly delivers them to the pool room via little secret passageways. - How LEGO has spelled out the word 'pool' so nicely - How LEGO has spelled out the word 'Al's' so nicely -In the barber shop, there is a mirror that actually reflects - How the stairs fold up so the barber shop is more accessible for playing Here are some of the features in this model that could be improved: - Even though the stairs go up in the barber shop, it still is really cramped and is hard to fully appreciate all the work LEGO has put into it - The windows on the Detective’s Office don't go fully down, they stay awkwardly on one side or the other and give a bad showcase look - Right above the barber shop there is a bathroom. Surprisingly there is no window shade or anything like that whatsoever. I find it odd that you can easily see someone in the bathroom. - I think that the windows are lacking design in this model. It would have put the perfect finishing touch on the model if the windows were less plain
In the end, I think this is mostly a showcase model-it is sort of hard to play with. The price is a little bit high, but it is reasonable enough. Overall, it is a really good model with lots of cool elements and design."
