" I was making up my mind for few weeks before this purchase. I wanted a big set and ended up choosing from modular buildings (Parisian Restaurant, Palace Cinema and Detective's Office) and The Simpsons House. Although I love Homer's family and the cartoon itself, I went with the Detective's Office after watching couple of reviews online. The story behind it was quite nice (the cookie-smuggling plot) and the building itself looked very nice with the brick finish, "Pool" sign etc.
It took me about 9 hours total to accomplish (3 days stretch after work). I wasn't expecting anything really difficult and couldn't name it "Expert level" after building it as well. But there were moment when I caught myself pretty entertained with the way some bricks were connected giving the specific result (very detailed fan, the "Pool" sign mentioned before, pool itself). Detail level is incredible. I love the kitchen and the office (desk, table lamp, newspaper stall and the exterior staircase).
I enjoyed this set a lot. I love the way it was designed with regular bricks, not with ones made specifically for a set. Well - that's why I love the whole idea of modular building. Regular smiling face is a cherry on top - so classic.
I really loved the whole building process and the result is totally satisfying. I would recommend it to anyone starting the adventure with modular buildings. I'm looking forward to buling another one. Maybe Pet Shop before it is retired.
Overall this set is pure fun. Go grab one, you won't regret it.
