"I am overall disappointed with the set. The small size equates to limited playability, despite the Detective's Office being centered around children. I am not a fan of the "smuggling cookies and candy" storyline. As a result, the kitchen does not seem to fit in with the rest of the set. Another Lego fan mentioned that the hidden tunnels and spaces are pointless and I could not agree more. If you are starting your collection, or are on a budget, I suggest that you focus on purchasing the Parisian Restaurant, Palace Cinema, or Pet Shop. All of them are great sets. I would encourage Lego designers to stay faithful to their more mature modular-fan audience.
I would recommend, if you choose to buy this set, that you convert the upper floors to a small police station. The set makes greater sense by doing so.
Pros: New Pieces (Mirror) Impressive Interior
Cons: Small Size Storyline (Smuggling Cookies) Lack of Sense (Kitchen is waste of precious space)"

"This set is the best modular yet. I actually ordered the Parisian Restaurant in the first several seconds that it was available... On New Year's Day... I don't regret my purchase at all. It includes the most detail and looks the finest out of the series. The first floor consists of a kitchen with various ingredients/accessories that are used in a common restaurant on a daily basis. Outdoor tables are on the front exterior of the building as shown in the pictures. Their is also a formal dining room. On the following floor, an apartment and outdoor seating are included. Lastly there is an artist's quarter on the third floor of the building. Lego has certainly maximized the space of this set. That is why I would urge buyers to purchase this product over the other modulars. Sets such as the Grand Emporium and Pet Shop, while very impressive, are not quite as sophisticated and detailed as the Parisian Restaurant. I would recommend that you construct this set only if you are an advanced or expert builder. Lego has done a very fine job. Pros: -Detailed -Extremely Realistic -Riveting to Build and Use Cons: -Challenging to find what modulars to put next to it (I believe the Parisian Restaurant looks best when paired with the Town Hall.)"
I would recommend this to a friend!

"As an avid Lego builder, I greatly enjoyed the overall process of creating this set. I find it truly amazing to simply look at, due to all of the elaborate details. In addition, it looks very nice next to the other modular buildings, such as the pet shop. While a great set, there are several flaws that I found. Pros: ~There are excellent exterior details ( the billboard, the crown molding, etc.). ~A nice system of escalators is found in this set. ~There is a beautiful crystal chandelier. Cons: ~The inside could use several more items on display. ~ The second and third floors were a bit to similar to build."
