" When I first saw the Grand Emporium, I was blown away, and discovered the Lego had started releasing "grand sets" for Adults. I found all the older releases, and have followed the series ever since. I was a little disappointed with the Parisian Restaurant, but I waited to see what come out next.
well, this is the newest release....
Lego designers completely fluffed out the part count by manipulation. If this set was built using the best parts possible (ie: 1 1x10 brick vs. 5 1x2 bricks) I think it would scrape in at probably 200 parts less easily. there's one part where instead of 1 4x2 plate, they used 4 1x2 plates without any particular reason. Of course if they did this, This set would come in as the lowest part count in the series.
there are massive parts of this set that could be built with larger parts. build design is average at best, and it's tiny.
It's not all bad, I like some elements of this a lot, but this is by far the most dumbed down modular they have released.
If the next one is as bad as this one, I may stop getting them.
I bought two copies of this set, to actually complete this model the way it should be built... something i have never had to do before. "
I would recommend this to a friend!
