"Having reignited my love of LEGO with the Parisian restaurant, I next tackled the detectives office. Again, simply blown away by the detail. There’s a narrative with this one which is great. A hidden grate, secret tunnel, James Bond style hidden compartment behind a cabinet and a secret wall safe. The micro-builds were great with this model ... an exquisite pool table, swinging ceiling fan, water tower, a remarkable “POOL” sign, newspaper stand and detective’s desk. The roof architrave is astonishingly detailed. No repetition, just new building styles all the way through. The worst part ... coming to the end and realising there isn’t a fourth floor to build!"
"After a 30 year hiatus from LEGO building, my intrigue was piqued by the modular buildings after seeing them at a LEGO show. I can’t believe the detail in the design -distressed brick work of the chimney, the scalloped details and roof texture, hanging baskets from Parisian lampposts and a Murphy bed in the apartment. The restaurant kitchen was fantastic to build, the detailed countertops with stacks of plates, a hob and oven with dials, a rolling pin and utensils, well stocked refrigerator. My love of LEGO has been reignited and I’m addicted to these modular buildings."
"This is my third modular building having completed the Parisian restaurant and the detective’s office. I’m simply astounded every step of the way at the level of detail and intricacy involved in how these buildings are put together. I’m only on the first level but it has the most detailed floor tile design, a lockable vault using Technic LEGO pieces, and a spiral staircase. The seemingly simple cashier’s counter is an intricate design of bricks facing forward, backwards, on their side and upside down. It’s a joy to build and watch come together. My only regret is that at some point the building will be complete!"
