"I was excited when I saw this new Modular building online, but when I started building, it fell short in many areas.
The build became very monotonous very fast, which is why it took me longer to build, because it got to a point when it wasn't enjoyable. There aren't many 'special' aspects in this build, compared to the most recent Modular buildings. The set looks good when you look at it from the Bank entrance, but from the side with the Laundromat, the dimensions just look off, and it the set does't work very well next to any other Modular besides the Detectives Office, not to mention that the set is very short, shorter than Pet Shop.. which is quite ironic considering the fact that the Bank should be 'Grand'.
I enjoy the colors, and the play factor and interior size are both MUCH better over the Detectives Office, but I still don't like the gap in the wall in the Laundromat area... The Chandelier looks amazing, and the skylight/roof were fun to build, and the interior is full of fun details, and looks very nice... also the amount of Minifigures included is a bonus! I wish the exterior had more details, especially near the Bank entrance, but I can always add stuff later.
Overall, I think the Brick Bank is an improvement over the last Modular set, but is still lacking. I really hope the next Modular building will truly focus more to the Adult LEGO fans, and not use the 'story' line as much within the set. I would not recommend this set as the first LEGO Creator Modular building for someone to purchase. I'd start with some older Modulars that focus more on the building elements."

"I agree with the review before mine, LEGO should bring back the retired Modular sets for a little while, so that you don't have to spend over 1000$ to get something as awesome as Green Grocer, Market Street or Cafe Corner. With that being said, I bought this set (Fire Brigade) through EBAY right after it was retired, for 250$.. and let me just say that this is my new favourite LEGO set. The interior is amazing, and you can tell with the newer LEGO Modular sets that the level of difficulty is declining by quite a bit. Take the Detectives Office as an example. There were times when I was building the DO that I was like.. "Oh!! That's a really cool way to build that!" The Grand Emporium to the Cafe Corner have the real LEGO feel. Pet Shop to Detectives Office are getting really easy and BLAND.
The only complaint I have about the Fire Brigade... is that there are only 2 instruction books which makes it really hard to sort through all those pieces!!!"

"This is my favorite LEGO Modular set to date. The detail is amazing! The checkered floor in the kitchen and the hanging flowers and the Murphy bed... it's all so creative!
My ONLY complaints about this set are:
1. Needs more minifigures.
2. The open air part outside only works well (for me anyway) with the new Detectives Office.
3. As your looking at it straight on, the right chimney knocks off really easy, so be careful.
Once again, the detail in this set is simply amazing. This is a true LEGO set!"

"This set lacks a lot of interior detail.. The bottom floor is just so plain!
I wish another minifigure was included that worked in the Cinema instead of just the 1. Also when I attached the Palace sign, it droops because it isn't being held up by very much... so it looks funny when you look at it from the side. As heavy as the sign is, it should be held up by more then a couple of arm things.
And it drives me CRAZY when LEGO uses the arched windows and just leaves them open without including the pieces to put in them.. the Parisian Restaurant has these windows but also has the black pieces for them.
This set just needed more interior detail, because the exterior looks great!"

"I personally like the color scheme and the storyline. The amount of detail that was put into this is excellent.. but the price kills it. Not even 2300 pieces and its over $170 after tax is included.
I like the Barber Shop and Pool Hall, although I was hoping LEGO would create a new modular that included a vehicle of some sort!
The set is overall pretty good. I'd rate it higher if the price dropped by at least $20."
