" We built this set while binge watching the show...it was a blast!
There is an instruction book for the top world and one for the up-side-down. This allowed my son and me to build this model at the same time! What a great experience!
Once complete, we were impressed with how sturdy the model is. You can be confident this model will survive reasonable play-time!
The mirror design with the two color pallets make for a fantastic display. For Halloween, we plan to flip to the up-side-down and light it with just the right amount of creepy purple lights!
The mini figures are wonderful and many with unique elements. However, by far the standout is Dustin; it’s a near perfect Lego version of the actor! It’s a delight!
This set comes just in time for you to start binge watching seasons 1 & 2 before season 3 hits this July...and why not have this set to play with during the new season!
Here’s to hoping for a few more Stranger Things sets...we need justice for Barb!!! "

" OVERALL:
We just love this set, in particular, how it adds to our Lego World! The first level Pool Hall and Barber Shop gives us some new retail locations for our Minifigures to shop and the upstairs Detective Agency provides some needed services! Plus, the fire escape breaks up the buildings very nicely, adding more interest to our display!
THE BUILD:
This was a fun build! The first level was a blast as you saw all the secret tunnels and how things might be smuggled in. While my son and I built it, we had a great conversation about Prohibition and how there are real world examples of these clever smuggling devices.
The Barber Shop put a smile on my face with the hairpieces in the window...of course that would be how a minifugure chooses a hairstyle! The Detective's Office was fun as well, with secret compartments and the attention to detail in the office...an old style fan was perfect!
THE DESIGN AND PLAYABILITY:
We are enjoying the more elaborate stories Lego is incorporating with these sets. It is sad to see Adult Fans of Lego write reviews dismissing these clever fictions as not being true to the expert builders...I, for one, really enjoy these glimpses into the inspiration of the designer!
A world without candy or cookies, an elaborate smuggling plan and a blossoming romance between Ace and his assistant! Such great design and a wonderful starting point for countless adventures! My son and I love that our bad guys have a Pool Hall to hang out in! Who knows if they are planning to rob the Grand Emporium or sneak into the Palace Cinema for some free movies!
CONCLUSION:
Great looking set and full of imaginative play potential.

" OVERALL:
What a great building with some beautiful details on the facade of the bank. Look above the front doors of the bank to see one example. What you may not notice is a stained glass effect above the printed windows on the first floor...both look great!
THE BUILD:
I found the build to be enjoyable. Bag Sets #1 & #2 contain a lot of detail work...many small pieces and rather time consuming. It slowed the build down initially, but once you see the results of all the little pieces, you smile!
Bag Sets #3 & #4 go by a bit faster and are very fun as you see the clever play features they put into this set! I was struck by the creative ideas for using parts...clear doors as teller windows, pullys as rooftop detail...the clock alone is such a clever build!
THE DESIGN AND PLAYABILITY:
Great design for both looks and playability! When we did the Detective Agency, I got such a kick out of the storyline incorporated with the set. Other sets don't really have much of that...but the Bank does. There are bad guys who have a plan to break into the bank...there is something funny going on at the laundromat.
All of these features are part of the design...secrets you discover as you build this set! My son has all of his police officers surrounding the bank now as the silent alarm has been set off. Things are about as tense as they get in a Lego Set! That is what I am appreciating about this set...it fits very nicely into our display, but it is not just for looking at...you can play with it for hours!
There are some very smart functional designs as well...many windows which give you much better visibility into the lobby. What really helps with internal lighting is the Skylight! Because the first floor is open to the second floor, the Skylight is functional. We have lights above our sets and you can see the interior better than any of the other sets.
CONCLUSION:
This was a long review, hope that was OK. I just saw some lukewarm reviews that didn't seem designed to help people decide to buy or not, but instead to vent frustration to Lego. Thought you might appreciate an opinion from someone who actually purchased and built this set.
If you like detailed builds and then playing with the set afterward, this is a very nice addition to your Lego World! "

" My seven year old son and I have purchased all the Monster Fighters sets, save the castle. We really were pleasantly surprised by the play / display value of this set.
I won't spend time rehashing what you can already learn from looking at the box...just know it is as great as it looks. What surprised us was the light up brick that is included...it goes into the Laser Emitter over the table where the Monster rests...it really lights up and looks fantastic!
Get this iconic set for Halloween display and for some fantastic Monster Fighting adventures! "
