" This is my 7th modular in the series - I have all of them from the Fire Station onwards. I enjoyed the experience of building this one, and although I accept some of the comments by others on here regarding the size / poor storyline of the building, I think it actually fits well within the street I'm building and was a nice departure from the big buildings of the past that perhaps lacked some of the interior details that this and the Parisian Restaurant provide.
The build itself was relatively straightforward and as others have noted, there are many small parts to this this build compared with the Town Hall for example. The area I like the best is the ground floor which contains the pool hall and barber's shop. There is a small archway between the two which is great for providing access to the rear of the buildings. In my town I have the Detective's Office and Parisian Restaurant sat back-to-back, which provides a cool back alley area, allowing access to the rear of the restaurant for the moped. I think too many people just focus on what the front of the building looks like rather than appreciating that there are possibilities for the areas to the rear and this set is one of the few that actually allows you access through its design.
The rest of the build is OK, the detective's office is quite cool, but for me the toilet and kitchen area don't really fit in that well (the kitchen especially - where are the people who cook there supposed to live??).
Overall, this set is nice as a one off and fits in with the other modulars well, although you do have to be careful about where you place it as it is not as high as some of the others. I do hope that Lego carry on the modular theme into 2016 and will revert back to a more traditional sized building that we can make up our own storylines to. "
I would recommend this to a friend!
