" Absolutely wonderful modular yet again Lego. Having a creator-scale Laundromat (even with the story elements) is excellent. These little details are what makes a city, a city!
Excellent construction techniques, the use of the cupcake tops as decoration combined with a 1x1 round plates creates a stunning facade. The clear and green 1x1 transparent plates in an offset pattern really add to the character.
I love that there aren't any stickers to worry about peeling off over time.
The sand green window frames are enough to make me want to buy another set to use in other MOCs. The white and sand green color scheme is incredible.
I love the "sand" colors in general. Sand Green for this one and Green Grocer, sand blue for the pet shop and this bank now really tie everything together.
Any intentions of creating a modular using sand red accents? I think that might be an interesting addition! "

" Coming off from the Parisian Restaurant was going to be a tough position no matter what. The Parisian Restaurant was what got me back into Lego, and I quickly purchased all the modulars except for the Cafe Corner. With that said, the Detective's Office simply felt inferior to the Parisian Restaurant's level of detail and complexity. The "play" aspects of cookie smuggling felt unnecessary in this level of lego model. The barber shop could have been more complex if not for the fake wall, and the lone kitchen at the top felt like an afterthought to the build, but necessary for the "play."
I will say the pool hall is wonderful. The actual detective's office is also detailed and wonderful. I feel that the rest of the building could have maintained that level if sacrifices were not made to accommodate the smuggling aspect. "
