Very solid toy
I will stay practical.
I bought this train for my 2 years old son - so that he would stop begging me to take my Lego trains :-)

The train has plenty of strong points:
- easy to assemble
- easy to play with
- only switch on/off button
- Colors
- Sound
- App is not compulsory to run the train

It has some negative ones too, that culd be thought of:
- Can't be played with "by hand" (which is the way a young kid wants to play with) / only by powered engine
- It requires 3 AAA batteries which, if the train is running with the sound bricks and so on...don't last long at all - which is also bad when it goes into pollution

to conclude:
- solid toy
- fun to play with
- more adapted to older kids than 2 to 5 as indicated in the box
- should be made possible to play without engine too (i.e. adding a non engine base for the locomotive)
- consumes too much energy
