Color differences

This model was a fun model to build! Some techniques used where new for me and I like all the details. I've almost all of the Lego Expert cars and every single one of them is great!

However, after finishing the Fiat 500 there were a lot of color differences. The door panels for examples are just ugly because of this. You can even see the bricks below the top of the door panel. I've attached some pictures.

I've contacted Lego about my concerns for this set. I really don't understand why they choose for the bright yellow. I just can't believe that the Quality Department of Lego didn't foresee this kind of problems. The reaction of Lego was the following: "The materials we use to make LEGO® bricks have evolved over the past almost seventy years as a natural process of making even better toys and play experiences for children. We use more than 20 different types of plastic and continually introduce new materials while phasing out other materials. Due to manufacturing methods and differences in the way some pieces are made, it’s possible for slight variations in color. This is often more noticeable in brighter colors like the yellow in the Fiat 500."

Of course I understand that there could be differences. However none of my other sets have as this kind of color differences.

The solution offered by Lego was sending replacement bricks for the ones that show differences. However I don't believe that this is a good solution.

My recommendation would be to not purchase this Lego set. Save up your many and buy the Haunted House (great set) or if you really want a Lego Export car, buy the Ford Mustang.
