"I was beyond thrilled when Lego announced the Colosseum set, as the size and detail was something I had been craving in a Lego set during these stay at home times. While the price is steep (thank goodness for VIP point discounts), the scale was much larger than expected and the details were nothing short of amazing. Seeing that they even had the details of the order of the columns brought a good giggle to my history nerd mind.
There was concern going into this set that it would get repetitive and boring, but each section varied just enough to where I didn't get too bored. Though since there were minor changes from section to section, I found myself making mistakes quite a bit when my brain would go on autopilot. The brick separator is going to be your best friend with this. It took about 22 hours to build, spread over 5 days.
My only complaint are the instruction manuals. Some of the details would get lost in spine of the book and it was easy to overlook steps. I found it easier to download the PDFs from the Lego website and look at the instructions on my computer instead of the manual itself.
Overall this set is a huge win, and love how Lego took into consideration moving it, as it's pretty sturdy when picked up from both ends. It's much easier to move than other landmark sets like the Taj Mahal and Big Ben. The set is definitely a show stopper and is one of my favorites in the collection."
