It's Ok
" I'm not sure I would've picked this up if it wasn't on sale. While it has a very nice selection of minifigures, the vehicle is a bit of a disappointment to me. It's pretty large, with the usual over-sized tires and "sport buggy" theme this wave of Ninjago has been leaning towards, but I wasn't too impressed with the play feature that was designed as it doesn't work too well. The main action is a large disc shooting gun which takes up most the surface area and is supposed to feed into a large containment tank in the back. I guess the play idea is that you ram into the ghosts with the front of the car and they get sucked into the tank in the back, becoming ammo for the cannon afterwards. Unfortunately, while it looks neat and appears imposing to build initially, the discs don't really fly out the inside of the cannon very well. It could be because the firing mechanism is a little on the short side, I'm not too sure. Beyond that, I do like the blue colors as well as the florescent green/yellow pieces. The name of the set is a bit strange. I suppose it's intended to be "Jay Walker's One"? One what? I think this is a set you could maybe skip unless you really need the ghost ninjas or want to try and improve upon the cannon design yourself. "

Good Things in Small Packages
" While some kids might not like that a particular Ninja is getting a "smaller" dragon in comparison to the others, they should really be grateful to Lego for making any set that includes two minifigs with accessories AND a pretty nice build of a dragon in such an affordable package! Yes, Cole's dragon is not the biggest, but for $10, he's a super value! With quite a lot of different points of articulation, and a really cool brick-built look from stem to stern, Cole's dragon is full of play-ability, pose-ability, and personality without destroying a kids' (or parent's) budget. This set is an easy purchase to recommend to any fan of the series and promises hours of fun for the money. Great job, Lego, let's see more affordable little sets for fans to build their armies and collections with! "

Van and Mini Camper
" I really want to like this set more than I actually do. On the positive side, it is a nice, simple build with 2 minifigs, a dog, and some light accessories. It is also somewhat of a 2 in 1 vehicle kit with a good-looking van that fits all the figs, including the dog, as well as a pretty fair representation of a mini (or tear drop-style) camper, complete with a small bed and a tiny breakfast nook type seating area. There's even an open flame grill with hot dogs. The piece count is even bumped up from 195 with the last small $20 camper to 250 at the same price.
Unfortunately, there's just something in my adult mind that prevents me from being able to suspend the disbelief required to have the minifigs enjoy the camper as it's really too small to fit everything in properly. For example, while you could cram the two minifigs together in the bed, one is going to be stuck on its side which seems unfair even in my imagination. Also, there's really nowhere to put the open grill when you need to pretend the van and camper are in transit. You could leave it in the camper, but it only fits on the bed so you'd have to pretend away all the issues that would arise as a result of having to sleep in the same place you kept a dirty, smelly grill lol. The play space inside is almost too small to really work with. In the real world, micro campers tend to have interior space mainly for just the bed and allow the kitchenette area to be contained in a sealable hatch accessible only from the outside, so I do wonder if that type of design would have been better/possible for this budget set. I suppose you could just rebuild it yourself, but that might require more pieces and experience than this cheap City set should.
In any case, if you can get past some of the limitations--and I believe most kids of the appropriate age would be able to--this is a solid City vehicle and reasonable value overall. "

Fun Ninjago Vehicle
" I like this a lot, mainly for the cool buggy centerpiece. As with most of the Ninjago vehicles, it's over-sized with a sturdy build and fun features designed for imaginative play. With large, soft tires and a springy, technic-built suspension, this really fits the mold of a dune buggy type 4-wheeler. It has a fairly simple build with just Lloyd and Kapau as your minifigures, but not too bad for a $20 set. The stone pillar is kind of meh and mainly there to pad the part count, but it does add a little to the "story" of the set. Most fans will have the other sets in the Wave anyway and can simply add this to their collection to re-enact their favorite scenes from the season. "

Toy is Awesome; Video Game Level, Not So Much
" Honestly, I bought the set primarily for the builds which are pretty great: the Arcade cabinet is a nice little model with cool printed pieces--a really fun thing to add to your modulars and MOCs. And while I don't care for micros, I do like the way the Spy Hunter model turned out as well. The minifig is nice with a can of pop and some coins thrown in for good measure.
As a video game, the level expansion is a mixed bag. Time Warner does have the full rights to Midway, so you are more or less getting these retro arcade games emulated off the original ROMs. However, due to the market aimed for Lego, you do not get the decidedly non-Lego friendly properties like APB and Mortal Kombat, and it's questionable whether the young audiences will really appreciate the old games as the presentation and gameplay are not what the iPad/Wii/Xbox/PS initiated are used to. Finally, I always question when game designers of open world games force you to unlock museum-style titles like this. Overall, I'd recommend this mainly for the actual Legos more than anything else, although retro fans will enjoy the expansion. "

Audi R8
" The Speed Champions line has the rather difficult task of representing real world racing vehicles in Lego minifig scale with a design that can be played with by young children at an affordable price. For the most part, the designers at Lego have a done a great job in meeting all these criteria. With the R8 LMS, I don't see how Lego could have done a better job capturing the look of the vehicle with part and scale limitations provided. There are, of course, a lot of stickers to apply which some folks won't be thrilled about however they are a necessary evil. Lego did include a couple of printed 1x1 smooth top bits which is a nice touch to add some detail without the extra hassle for builders. The build up itself is fine, with a satisfying use of techniques, and the final result looks pretty close to the real car, although it's just not possible to make it look any curvier, lower or wider. Overall, a fine addition to your GT car collection! "

Mixed Bag
" Something about this set does not sit right with me. There are some very cool things about it, for example the Batmobile is well done, as is the Wayne Manor library, and the many neat little bits for the detective lab. There are a couple of fun play features, but overall the visual look of the set seems haphazard and "cheap" despite the high piece count. The worst part is the huge plain "wall" where the dynamic duo rappel down into the bat cave. It is just ugly to look at. Even if you just wanted to play with it, it is unappealing and takes you out of the moment by just how amateur it looks. Strangely enough, Lego undersells the reverse side of the wall which is a very nice 2d representation of the Wayne Manor exterior. It's not functional per se , but it looks way better than the side they choose to advertise. They did a nice job with including details in the study and here and there but it still just seems incomplete to me. The Batmobile doesn't fit right under the helipad/garage either. Overall, while the piece count suggests a fair deal, I think Lego could have done a better job with this one. "

Bazinga!
" Even if you aren't a fan of the show, there's a lot to like if you need furniture or accessories for your modular building or MOCs. The mini figs also add great variety to your Lego city, whether you need convention goers, cosplayers, or just regular young folks with diverse looks. There's lots of little details that make the set work for play scenarios or dioramas. The build out of the box is ok given the theme and the only real downside is the cost since it is a licensed set. If you can find it at discount off the retail price, I would recommend this one. "

A Must for SW Force Awakens Fans
" If you've seen the movie and want the vehicles, you are going to buy this set--it's just a given. At $70, the set is a terrible value, but being a SW license and critical piece in any fans' space battle/display, there's no way around this. I enjoyed building the main fuselage/cockpit as it was well done, with a sturdy and clever design yielding plenty of details. The amount of texture and elements is rather impressive considering the overall simplicity of the Tie Fighter in the actual movies. Building the ship panels was not so fun, but I did appreciate the effort put in to make it a stable and detailed piece despite the repetition involved.
One minor gripe I had is that the instructions, while complete to a degree, seem to have been done hastily or possibly slightly off from the actual production run as I found an inconsistent piece inclusion on one of the solar panels compared to the graphics used.
There are four minifigs, two of which are dup pilots. Combined with other sets, you can recreate some of the scenes that involve Tie Fighters and other characters. "
