Very detailed build.
" The engineers at Lego did a great job for their 10th anniversary set. They have definitely been listening to people's critiques of the last few sets and have come up with a design that, in my opinion, marries both playability, functionality, and overall aesthetic very well.
If I had to come up with anything critical to say is that the studio apartment tends to be a bit of a downer. You have what appears to be a single mother and her infant making due on a pullout couch while she spoils the kid with toy sets that take up most of the limited space. Gonna be moving this family into the vacant townhome from a few sets back, give them a fresh start in my Lego town.
Also love the idea that one has to walk through the bakery to get to the dentist, talk about job security there.
Overall a great looking build, cannot wait until next year!

Great build!
" I've read alot of critiques regarding the size vs. price here. True, I would like the price of future modulars to stay around the same, yet with the amount of detail presented I believe it is justified. Plus, I was able to use my VIP points to negate the increase-boom, done.
As for the size, this stacks up great next to my three previous sets of Theater, Pet Shop, and Parisian restaurant (not in that order). To better help with setting the scope, without the rooftop "flare", the Theater is darn close in height to the Bank. Also, though it is two floors rather than three, they have high ceilings and an open atrium setup-really nice. I can understand this building coming off as underwhelming when placed next to the City Hall or Fire Department sets. Mix and match if that's the case, the current sets work together just fine.
Personally I use these sets more for models rather than play, and it seems the switch to the "Creator" moniker prompted the development team to make the modulars appealing to all age groups. The Brick Bank, thus far, is a great meeting point between the two. This is the reason I didn't really go for the Detective's Office set-it came off as more of a playset than an actual model, but the team at Lego seems to be zeroing on that sweet spot.
Keep up the good work guys and I cannot wait to see what comes out next!

So much fun!
" This was my first Creator Modular build, and boy was it fun!
My wife picked this up for me as I used to work in a movie theater years ago and love theater architecture. The designers on this project did not disappoint.
Though the detail of the building is exceptional, I found the projector/booth area quite lacking in comparison (the projector reminded of the old public school projectors); such a nice theater needs a larger and better equipped booth! The good news is that I was able to create a nicer workspace and realistic projector at the sacrifice of the limousine along with the remaining/extra pieces. Hopefully my attached pictures do it justice, but it just goes to show that there is room to add more as well as make the set your own.
I also moved the spotlights to the roof to help with the "premier" feeling.
One could also use minifigs from either the Star Wars sets or Harry Potter sets and have your very own little premier with "costumed" customers. The hardest part of this would be to replace the outside marquee and auditorium screen stickers, but that shouldn't be too outside the realm of possibility.
