"I’ve been admiring this set for months and finally decided to treat myself to a used set found on Bricklinks. I’m a novice builder and the only other set I built by myself was a tiny Easter Chick! So this was a real test for me. I loved every single minute building this set. The thing that attracted me to the set was the sand green siding on the store, and the contrasting exterior colors. The colors are beautiful. The building directions are clear, although I sometimes found it difficult to distinguish between the light and dark browns in the pictures. It became easier as I went along. I built slowly to make sure I wouldn’t need to redo any steps. This was a great first solo building experience and I’m so happy with the results!"
"I built this with my 3.5 year old granddaughter. She’s actually surprisingly good at building already; I would show her the step by step instructions and she’d find the pieces and assemble them by herself! The jewel box is functional and quite sturdy. The only piece that tended to feel less secure was the mirror structure, which did manage to come off pretty easily. This was a fun project, and I would definitely buy another. Note: I’d love to see this in Pink!!"
"I like the color assortment in this set of bricks and plates. A good starter set. Only one disappointment, and it’s my fault for not reading the description more carefully. I thought I was getting 16” square plates; but instead they were 16-stud square plates. I’m a novice at Legos so didn’t pick up on the description. Oh well....."
"My grandson was very excited to receive this for Christmas. He’s only 6, so below the recommended age for this set. But he’s an avid LEGO fan and able to put most of his sets together with minimal help. He really really wanted this set! He and his dad put this together over a 2 day period; my grandson did get a little tired of working on it and asked for a break. So the only disappointment with the set is its tendency to come apart when moving it. My grandson likes to actively play with / move his LEGO sets around like action figures, but this set doesn’t seem geared for that type of play. So if you’re planning to buy this set, keep that in mind."
