One of my new favorite sets
" Just finished putting this guy together. I had to pick him up - too many knight minifigs sitting around the Guarded Inn with nothing to do. He looked like a steal for $15, and now that he's complete I can safely say I'm thrilled with my purchase.
I'm a big Creator fan and these 3-in-1 sets are some of my favorites. With two alternate models and a great selection of parts for MOCs, there's plenty here to keep you busy. But the dragon is so cool I can't see myself taking him apart anytime soon.
He's a pretty menacing dude, and a very well-articulated one. The build was pretty quick and it was fun to see him come together. Straightforward techniques for the most part, the SNOT is well done on the head.
I was afraid he'd be a little too small to strike fear into someone as battle-hardened as, say, Frightening Knight or Banana Suit Guy, but the scale compared to a minifig is actually really perfect. This wyrm could cause all kinds of mayhem in your Lego kingdom. Outstanding playability potential.
221 pieces and 3 models for $15? He should be in your cart already. "

Clones vs Clankers
" I was a little late getting this one, but it was worth it! I had to pick it up while it was still in stores, I didn't want to miss the great figures this set comes with. The turret itself is a quick build, but nicely designed with a flick-fire missile that works pretty well - perfect for droid target practice. With a couple of extra pieces attached to the barrel, it would look just like the cannon on the Clone Wars TV show, but it works perfectly well just the way it is. The figures are the best part of this set. I like that it includes 2 troopers and 2 droids so you have heroes and villains in the same package. As much as I'd like to get 4 clones, clone troopers don't have anything to do without some clankers to blast!
And the clones included are some really amazing minifigures. The ARC trooper is incredibly highly detailed, with cloth kama and shoulder pauldrons, torso printing on both front and back, leg printing, and even foot printing! He comes with two blaster pistols, a utility pack on his back, and a helmet rangefinder (the set also comes with macrobinoculars you can attach to the ARC trooper's helmet, provided with the bag of extra rangefinders that come with most Lego clones). His helmet printing is fantastic also, and he has a nicely detailed standard clone face underneath. The ARC trooper is one of the best, most highly detailed Lego figures I've ever seen. The ARF trooper is very well done too. He's a little bit more basic, with only front/back torso printing. The mold and printing of the helmet are very nice and detailed and it saves the ARF trooper from being a little too bland. In true clone form he has the same face as his brother, and he comes with a blaster rifle. I can't complain about the ARF trooper's lack of extras, because it is true to the Star Wars universe that ARF troopers would travel lighter than other clones. Plus, without a backpack or anything to get in the way, it frees him up to man the turret to fight off any droid invasion.
The droids you get are 2 identical commandos, which I really like not only because they're some of the most deadly droids in the CW series, but because (as far as I know) they were exclusive to this set until the release of the new BARC speeder. They come in a nice dark copper color, have printing on torso and head, and are both armed with regular medium blasters. Overall, they make a pretty formidable foe for our brave clones. Let's not forget, two of those boys even managed to snipe Captain Rex!
I am very happy with this set. You get some great figures from two different factions, so the battle is ready to begin as soon as you finish building. At an affordable price, like the other battle packs, this set is also a great army builder. The clones look great and their opponents look menacing. The turret is small but solid, the flick-fire missile works well, and with some tiny modifications, it's pretty television-accurate. My only small complaint would be that I had some trouble attaching the ARC trooper's kama to get it to look exactly like it shows on the box and instructions (it was tough to wrap it around the front of the figure's legs just right), but I got it right after a couple tries. Not a big deal even if you couldn't fit it perfectly.
So what are you waiting for? Get this set before it's gone and blast some droids! "

Best $25 you can spend on Lego Star Wars
" I really do think this is the best Star Wars set you can possibly get for the price. You can create an iconic scene from Return of the Jedi, complete with 4 incredible figures, a nicely detailed ship, and the Sarlacc for less than the price of 2 battle packs, which I think is a pretty good deal as far as Star Wars sets go.
The skiff isn't a difficult build, but it does use some pieces in interesting ways to create the rounded sides of the hull. It also has a good amount of play features for a small vessel, with a retractable gangplank, hidden compartment for blasters, movable steering vanes, and a flick-fire missile. Some reviewers have complained that the ship is too low to the ground compared to the Sarlacc, but I really don't see how it could be made taller without putting it in danger of falling over. The way it is is nice and stable, so I have no problem with it. The color scheme is fantastic and the pieces will certainly find other homes if you choose to dismantle the ship. I don't think I'll do that though, because the scene is just so classic the way it is.
The Sarlacc is an essential addition to the set, and it really does look menacing. The opening jaws, tentacles and teeth not only look really cool, they're also really unique pieces. Plus you can fit a figure in its mouth, which adds to the play experience and makes the set movie-realistic.
The figures are this set's biggest selling point. They are among the best figures I've ever seen. Luke is pretty standard, though his RoTJ robes are updated a little from past sets. Kithaba is an interesting addition, and nice because you can use him in just about any Star Wars scene you want to play out, or make a diorama of. He wouldn't look out of place in a cantina or fighting alongside some pirates, and his face printing is really well done in an interesting green color. His torso is also nicely detailed front and back. Lando Calrissian, the Baron of Cool himself, makes a rare appearance in disguise as one of Jabba's goons, and he is exceptionally well done. The detail on the helmet is fantastic, and underneath his facial expression shows all the charm Lando was famous for. He also has a cool weapon for fighting the bad guys in this set, the most famous of which is none other than Mr. Boba Fett! And in my opinion, this version of Boba is probably worth the $25 by himself. It is quite simply the finest minifigure I've ever seen. The level of detail almost rivals that of his action figures. The helmet, torso, leg (and even foot!) printing are all unbelievable, complete with little touches like his wookiee scalp, chest emblem, utility belt, and knee pads, all presented with plenty of battle damage. He also comes with his jet pack, a helmet rangefinder, cape, and his trusty EE-3 carbine. And under the helmet is probably the most rugged, sinister and effortlessly cool Lego face ever made. I've been collecting Lego for about 15 years, and this Boba Fett is the best figure I've ever owned. Even if you do let the Sarlacc eat him, trust me he won't be in there for long.
Pros:
-Some of the best Star Wars figures ever made in an extremely affordable package - not to mention they're some pretty rare characters. I mean where else are you going to get a Lando and a Boba Fett for $25??
-Really iconic, memorable scene from the movie, and very movie-accurate
-Well-made ship with plenty of details
-Sarlacc is one gnarly beast!
-Lots of unique pieces in interesting colors
Cons
-None that I can think of
Overall, this set is a bargain for everything you get. When I saw the figures included, I knew I couldn't pass this one up and I wasn't disappointed. If you're a Star Wars fan, this is a must-have. I don't have the new Jabba's Palace or the Rancor Pit, and this would definitely compliment those nicely, but it works just as well as a standalone set. You don't need the bigger, more expensive sets to enjoy this one, and that's what I really like about it. "

Beautiful ship and figures, lotsa stickers
" When I first saw the pictures of the new A-wing, I wasn't really impressed. It struck me as too close to the older models' designs. I decided to purchase the set anyway because the figures looked great, and it would be nice to complete this generation of rebel fighters (I already had the new X-wing and Y-wing, but hadn't gotten an A-wing since 2000).
First off, the figures:
For the price, it's tough to get as many beautifully made, iconic Star Wars figures as this set provides (with the exception maybe of the Desert Skiff, which is another great set for figures at a reasonable price). Admiral Ackbar looks ready to command Home One, with a nice beverage to enjoy the show over Endor. His head printing is really fantastic. Han Solo is also a really nice new design, with more detailed jacket printing. The new A-wing pilot is a huge improvement over old designs, with a reversible face - either confident or scared. His helmet and flight suit are incredibly detailed. Each figure comes with an accessory, which is always nice. Lego has really, really outdone themselves with their newest batch of figures. They just keep getting better and better and are really putting the old versions to shame. My year 2000 A-wing pilot can only look on with envy...
The build itself was pretty easy, it took around 20 minutes for me to complete. The finished model is very sturdy. You could probably drop it with very minimal damage, if any. I love the retractable landing gear and the removable engine is nice, if only because there is plenty of room underneath it to use as a storage compartment for the wrench or any other tools the pilot might need. Also, the flick-fire missiles, which I usually don't like, actually work pretty well! (Good thing too, since there are four of them) You can get them halfway across the room or so with a powerful flick, and they are designed so that there's really no danger of breaking the model while launching them. This thing is built like a rock.
When I saw the finished model, I felt bad about judging the design so harshly at first. In person, this is a really beautiful, sleek ship. The finished product went completely beyond my expectations aesthetically. My only complaint is the amount of stickers. It has more stickers than models 3 or 4 times its size, and some of them are difficult to place. Especially important, at least for me, was to take extra care to make sure the long, narrow red stickers on the nose pieces were lined up equal to each other so they didn't end up looking lopsided. There is absolutely no printing anywhere on the ship, it's all stickers, which can be a pain. However, with careful placement, they really do add nicely to the look of the ship.
If you look past the difficulties of the stickers, this is a pretty perfect Lego set. The price is right, the figures are great, the ship is sturdy and beautiful, and the play features are well designed. The A-wing was built for swooshing, and this one definitely doesn't disappoint, but it's also good looking enough for display. Overall, a great addition to your Lego Star Wars hangar.
Pros:
-Outstanding figures, each of them very movie-realistic and highly detailed, and each with his own accessory.
-Very sturdy, very good looking ship. Perfect for play or display.
-The play features on this little beauty are very well done, even the flick-fire missiles!
Cons:
-Way too many stickers, some of them are awkward to place.

Best Lego truck ever, great playability & realism
" When I saw this set announced I knew I had to have it. The design of the truck is one of the coolest and most stylish I've ever seen from Lego. I love the opening back hatch and the large amount of room inside, as well as the great detail. The side mirrors, spare tire, roof rack, and lights were all nice touches. The trailer is pretty durable and the bikes and accessories don't fall off easily during play. Everything about this set feels solid. Two tool chests with lots of tools, two helmets, fire extinguishers and flags are all included. For the price, this set has a fantastic amount of features and accessories and the fact that it includes three vehicles means great playability. The build was easy and fun and the use of stickers isn't excessive. I highly recommend this set for builders looking to get the highest amount of features and playability for a reasonable price. "
