Smooth action
" Aside from looking phenomenal, the feeling/action of opening the book is very smooth. I've had no issues opening or closing the book.
Having two scenes/stories is great and also allows you to always have one, even if you use the pieces to make your own.
Having the bean stock rise up when you open the book is terrific and really makes this popup book go from good to excellent.
Fitting the minifigures in the book when closing can be a bit hard, and that is about the worst I can say. The only nit-picky thing is I'd prefer to have had tiles on top of the book (dark green) rather than plates (with studs).
I cannot wait to make my own story scenes.

Blue car pieces and nice techniques
" While building the set, there are many Studs Not On Top (SNOT) techniques that are used to create smooth curves on this set. That combined with the pretty, blue 'car pieces' - including the new wheel wells in blue for the first time, make this a great parts pack to build your own blue cars - which is the main reason for my purchase of this set. I believe the silver rim designs are new as well.
By far the worst part of this set is its reliance on stickers. This is especially noticeable on the back "windows" and headlights. The grill and more subtle stickers are fairly nice.
The car is also a bit long and having 4-stud-wide windshield looks a bit goofy given the actual Mustang GT.
Once assembled, it seems very sturdy and functional as a race car to play with.

Great fun and great parts
" The set is great alone and all the moving and interacting parts between the crane and the sub are great. The techniques used are wonderful for this level of set.
As an AFOL, the pieces in this set are wonderful: in color and utility. Dark blues are always welcome in any collection - bricks, bows and slopes. Plenty of SNOT in light bley, white and red. A good amount of plates as well as a few tiles. Our LUG plans on drafting this in a few months.
I would recommend this set to anyone and I plan on buying more copies just for the pieces!
