"I'm pretty disappointed in the design of this set. There are some interesting details and it looks okay, but the proportions are a little off.
The first minifigure scale Hulkbuster set Lego released looks far more interesting and has posability and some functionality that is just awesome. This one looks kind of flat and boring and seems to lack "bulk".
The worst part about this design, however, is the complete lack of posability in the legs aside from being able to bend the "hip" joints outward in a "splits" position. The ball joints in the ankles are far too weak to hold the Hulkbuster up very well so the entire thing either leans far forward or backward making the thing look very odd, like it's about to tip over in either direction. There is no real in between and it looks awful. I think giving the set bendable knees might have helped this a little bit.
I will say, however, that the feet are wide enough and have enough grip to make this set pretty darned sturdy. Despite it looking like it's about to topple over any minute, the thing will NOT lose its balance, even with a good push or a shake of the table it's standing on. Believe me, I tested it very well.
Overall I would recommend saving your money and going with the far superior (and far more affordable) minifigure scale Hulkbuster sets. Sorry Lego, but this one is a dud!"

I hate to agree with everyone... but this is awful
"I received this set as a gift from a friend as it was the one set he didn't think I owned, and he was right. I never intended to buy this for myself because it seemed like an exceptionally high price for a set with so little.
While constructing this set I couldn't help but wonder why a detachable AT-ST "head" wasn't included and a pretty useless (and rather ugly looking) 'lift' was included instead. I really felt like this set, as a whole, was severely lacking in almost every way. The only positive thing about it is the minifigures, but they don't justify the price point.
I would definitely NOT recommend this set to ANYONE, even die hard fans of Lego and Star Wars alike. Save your money people!
Pros: Exceptional minifigures.
Cons: Awful design, high price point, useless 'lift'"

Excellent Lego set!
"I've never been that interested in the modular buildings line until this set piqued my interest. I've always been a big fan of noirish detective movies and so this set in particular caught my eye.
The look of this set, especially from the outside, is perfect! It's beautiful and stylish and has so many creative little details like the the "pool" sign and the printed windows. It's something you could imagine being ripped straight out of a Hollywood movie!
The interior is no less beautiful with a lot of really fun and interesting ideas. Details like the ceiling fan and the barber shop mirror to the cluttered detective's desk and table top fan are all really well put together.
I also enjoyed the build itself a lot. I didn't find it particularly challenging to put together, but I had a blast doing it. I really loved watching the set come together so well. In fact I had so much fun building it and enjoyed the end result so much I ended up going out and purchasing three more modular sets (the Parisian Restaurant, the Palace Cinema, and the Pet Shop).
One of the issues I have is of something I didn't even notice until I read some other reviews, which why I'm still giving this set such high marks. The walls of the first floor between the barber shop and pool hall don't go all the way up to the ceiling, which is pretty baffling and kind of takes away from the set once you're aware of it. I can't imagine why the set was made this way as it doesn't seem to serve any purpose that I can see.
Another minor gripe is the size of the rooms being so small. It's hard to imagine how easy it would be for people to actually play with this set outside of small children with small hands. This issue is especially prevalent in the pool hall room where the ceiling fan obstructs the ability to reach into the room unless it's completely removed. To be fair, the ceiling fan is easily removable and is fairly sturdy so you don't have to worry about it falling to pieces too easily.
Over all I would definitely recommend this set to any fan of Lego products. It's beautifully and highly detailed and tremendously fun to build!"
