Chewbacca!
" My son begged for this set because he wanted Chewbacca. I will agree, this Chewbacca is the best looking version I have seen. We passed on the previous version some years back, but I like the look of this one so it was an easy decision to purchase it.
The set was fun and easy to build for me. The detailing on this one is very nice.
Pros:
Comes with a New Chewbacca with face and leg detailing, a green trooper and a super battle droid.
Ship is fun to build and very detailed.

Includes stickers. I prefer painted bricks for the money.
Bad blasters (look like megaphones) that shoot studs.
Chewbacca still comes with an actual crossbow weapon from the Kingdoms, Castle sets. After 14 years or so you would think Lego could make an actual movie accurate weapon for poor Chewbacca (Never bring an arrow to a blaster fight, boys).

My Take:
If you like Star Wars and enjoy the space vehicles, this is a good sturdy set to own when building your enemy fleet. As a collectable, it should hold it's value for some time as the Chewbacca is awesome and the vehicle has only been done once before by Lego.

Army Builder, errrrrr Almost
" Got this for my son the other day. He wants all of the new clones, so this was a cheap start to his collection as it comes with 4 minifigs (2 unique designs). Unfortunately they are orange again, would prefer blue or dark red, but I digress.
Pros:
The set includes 4 minifigs.
Minifigs have detailed legs, making them pretty cool for a kid or collector as clones have many times had simple plain legs. Keep it up Lego!
New helmet design that looks like a squishy bee hive helmet.
The buildable tri-droid is kinda silly but whatever, they always have something small to build and you can save the parts for other stuff.
Two cloth kamas included for the king of the bee hive troopers.

Kinda boring, but that is what you get when it comes to clone helmets and why so many people make custom versions. Would be nice if they took the same approach as they do with the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Helmets by including full detailing.

Guns are terrible. Might as well just included the old megaphone guns because these look just as bad. (Oh, wait... they can shoot a colored stud!) Lucky for most we have a collection of the blasters and rifles from previous sets.
My biggest complaint is that the clones have battle damage marks on their armor. Why Lego, why!?! Each pair of figures is identical, so a real lame choice as your army will all have the same exact battle damage on helmet, torso and legs. Anybody remember the GI Joe dolls back in the 70's all with the scar on the same cheek? Or the sandtroopers in set 9490 'droid escape' that were detailed with sand markings in the same places, or the latest Captain Rex from clone wars? This is why it gets a 3...hard to build a cool army when everyone has apparently experienced the exact same wear and tear.
My Opinion: Buy the set, but you probably won't buy a lot of them as the battle damage and blasters are just silly. We will settle with this one set.
Now, hopefully Lego will release a battle pack of all white troopers without the battle damage or disk shooters. (Fingers crossed). "

" Very nice set for a collector.
Pros:
Huge vehicle...on the scale of 5-inch action figures.
Build-able display stand included.

Decals. The cockpit decals can be difficult and ruin easily.
The wing decals darken on the grey slanted pieces...should have included white parts instead.
The wings are too thin for my taste, plates loosen easily.
Red detailing is dark red, not the color from the movies.

Final notes:
I am a collector and enjoy building the detailed sets. Though the set is too big for my son to play with, it is fairly durable. I added another layer of white plates to the bottom half of each wing to reinforce them. I added tiles where I felt I needed to cover up some of the studs as I like a smoother model. I replaced the dark red plates and tiles with regular red as it is my personal taste. I also reinforced the stand since I added weight to the wings. Bottom line for me, This is a great set to work with as you can customize it to fit your taste. "

Awesome Set, Customize It!
" This X-Wing is a nice build and sturdy set. My 9 year old loves it, even though he is more of a Clone Wars fan. By far better than any other lego x-wing I have seen at this price level.
Pros:
- Larger build than before and is very creative in the design.
- New figure and new droid along with Luke and R2
- Engine design is very detailed.
- Can easily customize if you have the know-how and some extra bricks.
- Longer canons on the wings.
