Lots of stickers.
" Definitely the most detailed minifig-scale race car that I have ever built. Unfortunately, much of that detail is accomplished through extensive application of very small stickers. These decals aren't really my thing...I very much prefer the factory-printed pieces. In this set, the only factory-printed piece was the windshield. One interesting part that I had never seen before was the air hose. "

Nice brick-built hull
" Ships are one of my favorite subjects to build, and I got this to pick up some ideas from its unique brick-built hull. The hull incorporates some interesting, more advanced building methods to achieve its pointed keel. I hope to use the same basic technique to built a whole fleet of similarly scaled ships! A very fun build for the price. Also looking forward to rebuilding it into the sea plane. "

Not enough
" I bought this set for a train I'm building, assuming that 16 curved pieces would be enough to make a complete circle or oval. In reality, the 16 curved pieces are only enough to make a single 90 degree turn. It would take four of these sets ($80!) just to make a full oval! "

Great holiday tradition
" This set was a joy to build over the Thanksgiving weekend with my kids. Rebuilding it every year will become a great holiday tradition for our family. We all loved the details, and the abundance of mini-figures made for a lot of fun play over the holidays.
My only critique, aside from the price which is a bit high for this set, is the "light brick." We were excited about this feature, but it is engineered very poorly. It is very difficult to get the light to stay on without manually keeping the switch depressed. This piece should be redesigned with a better switch that can be easily left on when desired. An AC adapter would also be a nice feature (even as an optional accessory), since the batteries do not last very long. The "light brick" seems like it was added as an afterthought, and is not really integrated into the build very creatively at all. Next year I am inclined simply to use a wired LED Christmas light or something along those lines in its place. "
