Great idea, still too heavy
" It's really a decent value but it still suffers from the same issue as the others. The targets are still too heavy to get anything more than a mild response unless you're right up to the target "

Best set i put together this year
" Beyond being nostalgically cool, it was an extremely technical (and fun) build showing off techniques i haven't seen in any set this year. The rolling screen is so cleverly made and something as silly as the spring function for loading the cartridge had a pleasant pavlovian effect of inciting childhood memories. If i had to ding it for anything, you need the god awful mario starter set to get the full functionality of it. "

Terrible value, looks cooler than it really is
" This was the first set I bought this holiday season and it was soul crushingly disappointing. OK maybe not that bad but for $200 (It went to $150 two weeks later >_<) it's a huge disappointment.
Good:
It does have size at around 3 ft. tall and if you've never done technic before it's an entry level way I guess. Building a motor if you've never done before is cool.
Bad:
The set is 826 pieces which is already not a lot for something this expensive, but more than half of those pieces are for a generic van, house, and landscape (so it felt like I spent $100 on just that) When you take out the fan, you have generic house and van, something that feels like a $30 set at your local store. That part wasn't particularly fun or challenging.
Weirdly enough, this was the only set I got that had unnumbered bags, making the build take even longer than it should.
I was expecting the fan to move faster than it does. I wasn't expecting an actual fan, but it feels underwhelming
It's just an overall terrible value for money. There are better sets in general with motion that don't cost nearly as much. For the same price you can even get some of their starter mechanical sets. It feels like a $60 set but it's going for way more. Sorry to those who are paying even higher prices on ebay. "

The amount of detail is astounding
" If you're a sesame street fan, it's a no brainer. The minifigs alone may be worth half the price of admission. It's not cheap (friends cafe is about same amount of pieces and half the price) but the amount of detail they packed in to around 1000 pieces makes mos eisley cantina feel more like duplo by comparison.
Even if you're not a sesame street fan, it's a fun and challenging build and personally I think provides better value than some of the other city/town designs
One complaint though - where's the count?! you included everyone else in there. "

Best bang for buck out there
" I didn't have high expectations for a $60 set but am a friends fan so wanted the set. At just over 1000 pieces it was a fantastic value with a challenging build (give you a point of reference any new star wars/potter in that price point gives you maybe half the pieces)
I think if you're not even a friends fan, you'll get better value here than you would with some others like the city cafe.

Awesome idea, too bad it doesn't work well
" Being a big star wars fans I was excited to see these come out that I bought all 3 sets at once. This one came first.
The launchers are surprisingly strong, but I think they made the targets too heavy. The video i attached with the At-AT could have been taken down with a deep breath because I pushed the target far back enough where the thing was barely standing. Once you put everything together you realize that it takes more force to take these things down as advertised. "

Fantastic Set at a ridiculous premium
" I kicked myself for not buying when it first came out and ended up paying 50% more on the secondary market for it. I was super excited to get it but expectations may have been higher than most.
So I was a little crushed when I started the build and the first thing that you do is the land speeder which is approx. 10% of the build and pretty straightforward and boring. I'm also going to ding lego too for providing a huge plastic dewback instead of providing pieces to build one. Also they spend about a bags worth of pieces designing a janitor's closet that never existed in the movie.
After that though building out the cantina was awesome. It's arguably the best collection of star wars minifigs that has come out and if you're a fan it does capture the feel of the cantina. My favorite part though is how it intuitively opens up and comes apart. For someone who has limited space so large builds are rare (I definitely don't have the shelves for millenium falcon or death star) so to be able to display the entire set on one thin shelf was a plus.
It ended up being a lot of fun and was a challenging build, but if you're not a star wars fan the premium is ridiculous and you're better off spending that money elsewhere. If you were lucky enough to get one at the original MSRP, kudos to you. "

Queen's gambit declined
" It's always fun because it's lego but the build was overly simple (you basically do the same thing 4 times) and then if the point is to learn chess you realize you can actually get a really nIce chess set for $60 "
