"This set is gorgeous and was so much fun to build! That being said, this is the most challenging set that I have put together. It takes up my entire coffee table. Some of my favorite aspects of this set include: the baby blue bricks, the coat of arms, the tops of the two towers and the overall display capability.
As I'm sure other reviewers pointed out, this set has no numbered bags so you have to take everything out at once. It is extremely hard in the beginning. I found myself hard-pressed to find space to fit and view all of the bricks. The hardest parts to put on were the 1x1 slanted tile bricks, there are honestly almost 600 of those pieces.
I loved that they included four cars with this set. Honestly the only thing that could have improved this set was to add more cars. I do like how they took the location into consideration and added the black taxi with the red double decker bus.
"I love this little set! You get great value for your money because it comes with two minifigures. I made the reindeer that came with this set with a red nose with the extra pieces, so Rudolph is pulling the sleigh. Thank you LEGO!"
"This is a quick and easy set. Well worth the money considering you get two minifigs. My favorite part about this set is the little blue train. Thank you LEGO!"
"I loved this set! The merry go round moves and the horses make a rocking motion when you turn the crank, this also moves one of the stall's games. This gives younger ones instant playability. I do wish that there were four horses and not just two, I really do not care for the little cars. However, the horses that were provided had some wonderful printing on them, making them look like the vintage carnival horses, which is adorable!
As an older LEGO builder, I was satisfied with the challenging build this set provided. Each stall was different, so there was little repetition. The most challenging part of this build was the gears that had to be placed for the merry go round to move. I also found the street lights challenging, the glass orbs were hard to snap together and often times the clear yellow brick would fly off of the pole, so that was hard, parents will have to help the younger ones with this set.
Overall, this is now my favorite winter village set. Thank you LEGO, you have outdone yourselves this time!"
"I recieved the Decorator, Roman Commander, Motorcycle Mechanic, Grandpa, Revolutionary Soldier, Sea Captain, Medusa, Librarian, Skydiver, Paintball Player and Tomahawk Warrior. I did NOT get Mr. Gold. I ordered all of mine online and I recieved quite the selection.
I am so happy about this series because it includes a Librarian and I work at a Library for a living. I have the Librarian minifigure on my desk at work and all of the staff loved the bio story that came with her! The children's librarian has been looking to start our own Lego Library club and this might be the spark to get it started!
LEGO has gone above and beyond time and time again. Thank you so much LEGO!"
"I like the Shelob Attacks set. I would recommend this set to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on some of the other LOTR and Hobbit sets.
Shelob has great playability. The legs are all flexible and there is a cool mechanism that can extend a string with a hook on the end to capture Frodo. The building is slightly reminiscent to Hagrid's Hut from the Harry Potter line, however, I like this set better.
"What you see is what you get for this set. I would recommend getting this for the Gandalf and Frodo minifigs. The cart is a nice, solid build and it goes great with all of the LOTR sets.
It looks very nice with the Unexpeceted Gathering set. I would dearly like to see the party tree made into a Lego set. I think that there could be some fantastic elements that could go with that.
"I love this set! The best part about this set are the minifigures and the two wargs that are included! In this set you get Thorin, Bifur (including the axe and all), and three orc hunters.
The actual tree is nothing spectacular. It does remind me somewhat of the Werewolf Tree in the Monster Fighters series. The rock element does add a lot of character to this set, especially if you plan on displaying this piece.
This is a great set for the kiddies, there are many things that they can have fun and play with. The price isn't that bad either.
"I like the Attack on Weathertop set. It is in the more expensive range for LOTR sets. The only thing that I can think of that makes this set so expensive compared to others would be the amount of minifigs.
It comes with Frodo, Aragorn, Merry and two ringwraiths. It has all the pieces for the iconic fire cooking scene as well as the scene where Frodo is stabbed.
The only thing that I would want to change with this set is to have more ringwraiths. My favorite pieces of this set are the tiny grey statues of the men. I love them!
"The Lego Palace Cinema is the one set that my family and I can all agree on, and that is that this set is the best modular building so far. It adds so much character to my ever-growing modular building street!
The actual building process was really fun. It can be challenging at times, especially the first series of bags that contain the first floor of the building and all of the sidewalk tile work.
My favorite thing about this set is something that I normally don't like in Lego sets, and that would be the stickers. You get quite a few bricks with the print already on them, but the movie posters and the silver screen have stickers. They are just so adorable, and they give the set an old-fashioned movie feel about it.
The minifigs in this set are great! The child acress minifig that you can put in the old-style limo is on the silver screen sticker, which I thought was a nice touch.
All in all, this is a fantastic set, and I would highly recommened it to anyone who enjoys a great build. Thank you Lego!"
