Excellent Figure
" I was quite sceptical about this set when I first saw it, but over time it grew on me and upon buying and building it, I think this is my favourite of the 2016 small Toa.
The build is relatively standard. The torso is a nice change from the regular, single skeleton piece we normally see and allows for more customization between each Toa, however this piece is used in all the Toa sets and Umarak, so is not something unique to Pohatu. What is unique to him are his upper arms. Consisting of 8 pieces each, Pohatu's upper arms are custom built (as is clear to see) and look really good, along with allowing a much wider range of articulation, despite him wielding a two-handed weapon.
Pohatu's only functions are the same as those shared between all the 2016 Toa: the waist swivel function and mask pop-off function. However, with the waist function you can make him turn fast enough to swing the boulder/kohlii ball on the end of his staff. The inclusion of this boulder is a nice call back to Pohatu's first incarnation and I really like its inclusion, as the uniqueness of Pohatu Mata having a boulder that he kicked made him my favourite Toa Mata and is the reason that I still intend to buy him someday.
The unity mode with Ketar looks very cluttered in many people's opinions, though I actually think it looks alright if you position Ketar's limbs in a certain way (which I go into more in my review of Ketar).
The one thing that bugs me with Pohatu is his colour scheme, it just has too many colours (about 7 main ones). While it doesn't look as bad in hand and I do partially like it, I know some people may dislike it.
I would recommend you buy this set if you want to get one of the small Toa. If you can afford it I would also recommend you get Ketar, so that you can make the unity form, but if not then Pohatu looks fine by himself. "

Best Creature
" From the first images of the new sets released I knew that Uxar was my favourite of the creatures and now that I own the set in hand he (she?) doesn't disappoint.
The build is solid and looks great. The wings are the main feature of this set and they look great! The inclusion of system pieces for detail is really nice and the function works wonderfully. The set's wingspan is also very impressive, to the point where they wings look large enough to carry a set the size of Umarak when united.
The function itself is quite simple, but was very enjoyable to build and does not detract from the overall appearance of the set. To activate the function you merely move the tail up and down, and the wings will move up and down. As simple as it is, it is very nice to watch. However the function has just too little friction to keep the wings raised unless they're raised to a certain point. It is just about possible to keep them up, but if you move the set around at all, or just leave it be for a while, the wings will slowly droop.
I do not yet own Lewa, but the unity mode of Uxar with Umarak looks incredibly impressive and only makes Umarak look even larger and more imposing.
Overall, Uxar is an excellent set that I recommend you get with or without a figure for it to unite with. This is a very nice looking little model and the fact that the creatures have names this year is a step up from the protectors, who were only named after their release, but I do wish they would clarify the gender of each creature. Alright
" Ketar is an interesting set which actually looks better in hand than in pictures (as with most sets). However he (she?) is by no means the best of the creatures.
The build is fairly simple, with the complexity mainly being in the torso. While I, as a gen 1 Bionicle fan, appreciate the more technic-based build, it isn't great if I'm perfectly honest.
The function works well and is fun to mess around with, however it has no friction and is not the most inventive, though it does still work in unity mode which is a plus.
The overall appearance of the set is good, much better (as I said) in hand than it appears in pictures. The tail, however, is very oddly designed and the two crystal blades are long and a oddly placed, though I don't actually mind how they look.
The unity mode with Pohatu, while many have said looks bad, I would actually say I like. If you bring the tail right down, position the legs over Pohatu's shoulders and around his waist, and bring the blades forwards and out at an angle, then it looks pretty cool in my opinion and Pohatu gains a pair of blades and a tail.
In conclusion, I would recommend you buy this set if you get Pohatu Uniter of Stone, but on its own there are better creatures for you to buy, "

Far superior to LoSS
" Just at first glance Umarak appears as an intimidating and formidable opponent, a being who would pose a serious threat to the Toa and looks far superior to Lord of Skull Spiders, last year's winter villain. Though still a CCBS set, the level of complexity and technic used give Umarak a more 'grown up' look than the 2015 sets, by which I mean he looks more like the old sets and looks a lot less childish than previous, generally smoother, CCBS sets (the same goes for all the 2016 sets).
His colour scheme is good, the black giving him a shadowy appearance and the trans green appearing as something toxic. I really like the antlers and they, along with the lower legs, give him a slightly animalistic feel, which is interesting considering he is a hunter. The bow is basically the same as previous stud shooter bows, but still pretty cool and lacking in any out of place yellow parts, which is a step up from last year. The same goes for his waist function, which does not have any unneeded yellow parts marking it out, however the function is a little stiff, though I imagine this will lessen with use and stops him from swinging around wildly.
The ammo clip is a nice touch, though it does mean if you lose more than one stud then yours set will look incomplete, and it does not have to remain attached to the his blade, as shown in some images. As a MOC maker I can also strongly appreciate the added detail of the chain attached to his shoulder, something placed their solely for appearance and a technique I have played around with several times. Although, while I say it is solely for appearance it does also make up part of the shadow trap which can be built from parts both on and included with Umarak. This is a cool function but leaves Umarak looking a bit bare and is not something I intend to do often. Umarak also has the ability to unite with all the creatures, which is another cool addition, and due to the way that function is designed (as with all the 2016 unity modes), no pins or armor will be pulled of with or from the creature when disconnecting the two, which is great. The Mask of Control looks great too, though it is far small and less impressive than the Mask of Creation and it does not look great on Umarak. "
