" I must say I enjoyed this set a lot! Quite comparable to the excellent Saturn V set as far as the building experience and final looks go.
The good:
- Some inventive building techniques
- Some great mechanical functions (I wish today’s LEGO Technic had functions like that)
- The doors look really awesome with the silver foil stickers
- The instructions explain the stuff that's being built (this antenna is for this, this deck is for that) - really nice, something that was missing from the ISS instructions
- The Hubble telescope build is lovely, and easily could have been its own set. I like how the solar panels were made, really reminiscent of the original
- Fantastic interview with Dr Sullivan - not quite part of the set, but a great present nonetheless
The bad:
- Not only does the Canadarm lack the Canada logo on it, it isn't even mentioned in the text by the name!!!1 Licensing issues?? Strange.
- The silver foil stickers for the doors are terrible (too many of them, hard to position correctly, and can develop bumps if you try to reapply)
- I wonder why they didn't imitate the engine exhaust; on the Saturn V that was a really lovely detail. It would have just taken additional 8 parts...
Overall, an excellent set and a joy to put together. For people who don't want to display it - lots of great parts. "

Excellent set
" The building process is very nice; I loved the fact that the instructions booklet had bits of information about the original here and there - that made building more interesting. The model looks very nice on the shelf, but this set is also a nice selection of parts for own creations too. I love this set and hope LEGO will continue making space-themed sets in the future! "

Great value
" I loved both the models, especially the pile driver - for some reason I found it rather entertaining in how the main function mechanism works, and just an unusual machine overall. Both the models are highly playable, and the whole thing is quite sturdy, so can be bought for a child. Finally, this set is a great source of parts at a good price, including a ton of gears, very useful gray panels, big red wheels, and some old technic bricks. I got this to supplement my EV3 set, and it's been awesome. "

Great introduction to robotics
" This set helped me discover robotics and LEGO Technic. I love how many models come with the set - 5 main robots from LEGO + 12 additional designs you can download in the software. There are also a couple of great books with 6-7 designs each. So even those completely new to LEGO building have plenty of opportunity to learn the techniques.
What I like particularly about this set comparing to the newer Mindstorms Robot Inventor is that you can program it in not just Python but a whole variety of languages (you'd need to use a custom Linux distribution on the SD card for that), although admittedly Python is an excellent choice because it's easy enough to learn for kids and is actually used in robotics a lot. Another thing I like about this set better is that it doesn't force me to use a mobile device. "

Great to see this re-released!
" Such an excellent set! I got it in summer, for a bit more money than this - if only I knew this was going to be re-released! I still love my set tho. The rocket looks stunning, and the build was really engaging. Highly recommended! "

So many gears!
" Love this set. The tractor is cute and fun to build. Also, there are tons of other build instructions on rebrickable (in fact, this set has the most MOCs on that website!) Not to mention that such a small model has 3 functions and 10 gears! Total must buy. "

Very fragile
" It was an easy build, although the model felt more and more fragile as it went.
This set is rated for ages 16+, and I agree with that. Children definitely won’t have enough fine motor skill to make the build process enjoyable, and half the model will end up in the vacuum cleaner :) Also, you can’t build much else with the pieces. Although Mir space station and a space telescope or two are achievable :) Finally, there are just way to many tiny parts.
As a display piece, this model is remarkably fragile. You’d need to guard it very diligently from the guests’, partner’s and children’s hands. Getting the dust off of it would be a non-trivial task. Also, the stand would need some redesign, because the model isn’t actually attached to it - it just balances on top of it and wobbles pretty freely. Any slight draft in the room, and the station will go off the shelf orbit XD
I think the main problem of the model is its scale - it’s very small (approximately 1:220), and as a consequence, there are tons of microscopic pieces barely hanging on other microscopic pieces. If it were larger it could have been funner to build and potentially less fragile. Speaking of scale, the astronauts figures included with the set are 2x too large for the scale of the model, and the space shuttle included in the set is about 1.5x too small.
All in all, would make a nice display piece with the caveat that something must be done with the stand. "
