When the Small is the Actual BIG
" I had this on my wishlist since its release announcement. Thought it would be a cool piece to add to my Star Wars collection. The finished product was smaller than I would like. (Hey LEGO, a UCS version would be super cool).
Pro: Under 600 pieces which made the build was quick & easy. Can't complain too much when there's only 4 numbered bags. The transformation from nothing to a SW ship was like a Disney short film. Hahaha.
Cons: I have to backtrack to build count. Even though I bought this set thru a third party app (a deal I couldn't pass up), I think for its retail price, the piece count does NOT hold its value. Build quality is a little underwhelming. Flimsy at certain areas I expect to be ridged.
Best of the Okay: The Mini-figures!!! You can't knock this set's little guys/girl! Rey Skywalker and two Knights of Ren! Not only did I completed my collection of the Knights of Ren, I got my first Rey mini-fig. She may not be as important as Luke but she is a Skywalker in the end.
Overall, I'll give this set a "not as good as what it CAN be" nomination. Great visual design but lacks the actual physical design. It could've been bigger for its price but the count does match LEGO's formula. Wait for a LEGO sale or go 3rd-party for cheapet. 'll only recommend if you're a strict SW fan and/or you're a mini-fig collector. Here's to awesome mini-figs! Cheers all!
