"I was thrilled to find that this set is actually playable. It has been too long, (in my opinion), since Lego made proper playable sets which has been a real shame.
This set is a nice build, not too difficult; but the addition of the "water cannon" in conjunction with the flame pieces is fantastic as one can actually extinguish the flames!
My 6 year old has had hours of fun with the set, and it reminds me of my childhood, (which was many years ago!), and the hours of fun I got from actually playing with my sets, as opposed to just building them.
All in all, this is a good addition to the Fire range, and a welcome return to playable sets. Well done, Lego."

Well worth the wait.
"After desperately wanting this set for a few years, I was thrilled to get this for Christmas. (Well, I bought it at Leicester Square in November and then had to wait a month - which was difficult!)
It was well worth the wait though, the set is fantastic fun to build, and Architecturally it is amazing. There are so many details that I would never have cone up with: Weapons as Architectural Features? Brilliant! Spearguns as outside lighting? Inspired! The design is fantastic and inspiring.
Pros: Great fun to build, Fantastic detail Very attractive to display Value for money (2000 pieces works out at about 6p a piece)
Cons:
My ONLY complaint is the minifigs themselves; I was quite disappointed when I realised that they all had generic faces, there are so many great designs available, they could have had a lot more "personality". If, like me, you have a lot of spare heads, it's not too much of an issue; I can replace them with ones that I prefer, but if not I can imagine it would be a bit if a disappointment.
All in all, I am thrilled to get this set as my first Expert Modular. I know it is being retired soon, so I recommend you grab it while you can!"
