Much more rewarding than I'd expected!
" I've built a number of the vehicle Lego Technic sets over the years, and had been aware of this set for some time, (a couple of YouTubers plugging it helped) but funds did not allow so I'd been keeping my eyes open for a good deal and (against my better judgement) found a brand new unopened set for a 1/3 under list price from a private eBay seller. Slightly relieved to receive something exactly as described I was eager to commence building the day it was delivered.
The presentation of the set isn't quite as impressive as set 42115/Lamborghini Sián, but it's still well presented and had a premium feel to it.
The build felt much more complicated than I'd anticipated, the W16 engine was a bit of a cop out (it's a V8 with a straight 4 bolted on either side, so 3 cranks joined by cogs) I felt, but the interpretation of the gearbox and rest of the drive train was very involving and ultimately rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed building this, it is certainly the most technically challenging set I've built to date, and although I wasn't overly enthralled with the end result it has (after about a week) certainly grown on me. This is nothing against the set, I'm just not a Bugatti fan.
I made the decision to polish certain pieces that were of a matt finish compared to adjacent pieces and am pretty sure that that effort enhances the end result well. I very much appreciate the way the build was broken down into boxes and numbered bags, and found the instructions to be pretty good, some things could have been a bit clearer, but I did some of this late at night so lighting and tiredness could account for some of my confusion. I was a little confused as to how the rear wing would be operated until very near the end of the build, the handy tool for adjusting it you get to build also doubles up as a sign for the piece whilst on display, and can also be stowed in the 'frunk' if you see fit.
Overall this is a very rewarding build, and worth every penny, if I'd have paid full price I'd still be very happy with the end result, it is definitely the pride of my collection. This is probably the most challenging and rewarding set I've experienced to date.

Very engaging and technically impressive!
" I wasn't really expecting anything great from this set, I'm not a massive land-rover fan and it doesn't really look massively impressive in pictures but I literally stumbled across this set on the Argos app whilst shopping for bedding, and it was on offer for £106 (that's 1/3 off) so I was in!
This is without question my best purchase of the year. The build was an absolute joy and I was a little (pleasantly) surprised at how technical a build it is considering the price point. Although maybe the brick count should have been a clue. This was definitely one of the more challenging builds I've done, but it wasn't especially hard, just very engaging. It was an pleasure watching everything come together, the 4wd and transmission system is very trick, and a different engine from what I've become accustomed to from Lego/Technic was a breath of fresh air. The mechanism for the rear door was another surprise, and definitely a positive addition to the experience. The entire build was rewarding, and the end result is, in my opinion, well worth the effort. Although I got this with a decent discount I would gladly have paid list price for it had I of known how great a build it would be. It certainly fits my collection better than I expected.
I actually think this is more fun and rewarding to build than set 42115 Lamborghini Sián, although maybe not as impressive to look at upon completion.

Perfect partner for set 42096 (Porsche 911 RSR)
" I purchased this set purely to complement the Porsche Motorsport 911 RSR as it's also a GT car, and scales perfectly for it. I found the build process (compared to the previous named set) relatively simple and straight forward, there were no issues with the instructions, and no missing pieces. As in 42096 it's a simple engine/differential RWD set up that's pretty simple to build and (due to the utilisation of numbered bags) is easier overall. The only thing that I found slightly tedious was all the stickers... The end result is very displayable and somewhat rewarding. "

Excellent display piece once completed!
" I learned to ride a motorcycle on a Ducati, so the minute I saw this set existed I was having it, luckily I was able to find it new and heavily discounted so was an utter no brainer. The build process was relatively simple and straight forward, numbered bags is always appreciated and I had it built in an afternoon. The V4 engine and gearbox went together really easily and it was cool seeing the whole set come together logically. The inclusion of a stand for display was very much appreciated and the finished article looks very cool.
The build wasn't overly taxing, I didn't stumble across any issues (although couldn't quite get the screen to go together 100% first time) and this is definitely a set that any motorcycle fan, or general petrol head will appreciate. The only thing that kinda let's it down is the omission of any kind of braking system, but for the size and scale that may have been a bit too technical to integrate.

A good dive back into the world of Lego!
" This seemed like the ideal set to get back into Lego as I'm a massive petrol head, and the price was right so I took the plunge, waited patiently for the 2 days for it to be delivered and eagerly opened the box within minutes of receiving it. I was slightly miffed at having to open all the bags within the first couple of pages (my last build had been 42056 GT3 RS, admittedly back when it was released) so I ended up laying everything out and grouping by size/type etc all over the dining table. The build was pretty enjoyable, and, once I'd laid all the pieces out in some semblance of order, was relatively easy for the number of pieces involved. The finished article looks pretty good (even if I do say so myself) and I'm very pleased with the whole process.
Having had various Lego sets over the years (and finances dictating selling it all back in 2018) I wasn't fazed by the idea of a large (ish) set once I found it financially viable to get back into Lego. If you were into Lego a few years back then this is definitely a good set to get back into the game with.
