I'll try spinning, that's a good trick!
" The Phantom Menace is my 2nd favourite Star Wars film and I was desperate to get this set to expand my collection. Initially my main incentive to buy this set was the Obi-wan minifigure so that I could have a padawan Obi-wan (as I already have him from episodes II, III and IV). But once I finished building the set I realised how well-designed the starfighter was compared to other sets I've purchased. The startfighter itself is very light (which adds to the playability of the set) and looks great when you compare it to the movie version. The starfighter is equipped with two firing missiles which work through a simple release mechanism; by pushing a brick from one side to the other you can fire the two missiles. The are adequately placed and the mechanism is easy to use, although sometimes I have fired them by accident so do be careful where you put your finger when holding the model! Behind the cockpit there is also space for R2D2, not only does he fit in perfectly, but he is also secured in by two bricks beneath his feet that means that he will only come out if you pull him out or eject him, so if you want to try spinning, it works very well! My only problem with the starfighter is the stickers; although they look great when on, they are extremely difficult to place and must be annoying for younger kids to ask their parents to do, and annoying for the parents as well. I also had to modify inside the cockpit; as it is designed to house only Anakin Skywalker or any minifigure with small legs. I removed a smooth tile brick from the bottom of the cockpit so I could sit either Anakin or the Naboo pilot in there. Now the minifigures are also wonderful; R2D2 has a nice newer chrome-like design and Anakin looks cool enough. The generic battle droids and fold-able Droidekas are good for army building but the battle droid commander is essential here and all I feel it is missing is Qui-gon for that scene ('Coruscant..uh..that doesn't compute..uh..you're under arrest!') but its still a great addition nonetheless. The Naboo Pilot is a nice minifigure too and of course Obi-wan is the highlight; with a perfectly captured expression and detail on his legs, and even his padawan braid included on his torso. The extras that come with the set aren't really needed like the missile carrier and fuel tank but they have unique pieces so every little counts. The 'cherry-on-top' of this set has to be the starfighter's stand; not only does the starfighter fit perfectly on it, but it does not attach in any way so you can pull it off effortlessly and it also spins 360 so it is perfect for displaying the model.
Overall this set is a triumph and well worth a purchase for any fan of The Phantom Menace. And I look forward to more sets from Episode I in the future. "

As long as there's light we've got a chance!
" As soon as I saw The Force Awakens I fell in love with Poe Dameron and I knew I had to have him in LEGO form!! I got this set for my 18th birthday and is currently the largest LEGO Star Wars set I own and it is very impressive, I have always marveled at the X-wing sets and am very glad that I got this one of all the sets released. The set itself is quite large and not always possible to hold in just one hand; especially if you don't want to drop it! Because the model is quite weighty it can be difficult to play with, but that hardly makes a difference as it just kind of adds more realism. I think that compared to Poe's actual X-wing Black One this set is very movie accurate; the black and orange scheme looks perfect, the cockpit looks so cool opening and closing and the guns on each wing are very well designed. BB8 is also a wonderful addition to the set; he can be secured behind the cockpit so he won't fall out even if you try out a couple of spins ;) This set is definitely worth buying for the Poe and BB8 minifigures; Poe is so detailed his flightsuit and helmet look incredible and BB8 is great both in this set and when paired with the Rey's speeder set. The best part of the set is the folding and un-folding of the wings; a cleverly placed winch mechanism lifts the wings up or down with a single twist and they stay in position very firmly. I can't really get used to the new missile functions, but I understand that they are probably entertaining for younger builders as they do fire quite far! Overall I think this set is a triumph, it looks amazing as a display piece and is also so fun to play with. I loved the look and feel of it so much that I took it into the garden to really capture the essence of the model and figures (see pics).
If you love The Force Awakens, if you love Poe Dameron, if you love BB8, if you love Star Wars...then you will love this set. "

We're made to suffer, it's our lot in life
" Where do I begin? this set is amazing! It perfectly represents the escape pod as it was seen in Star Wars; A New Hope. Although I love buying sets that have lots of action and adventure in them, it is really refreshing to get a set that isn't just about the good guys vs the bad guys. Instead, relive one of the best moments of the Star Wars saga, as C3PO and R2D2 escape the clutches of Darth Vader, only to end up bickering on the desert planet of Tatooine falling right into the hands of the scavenging Jawas.
Pros;
Perfect representation of the film
Elegant and clever design of escape pod
Cool features like opening doors and hidden Death Star plans
Updated C3PO and R2D2 minfigures
Jawas!! (I never thought I'd get any!)
Great value for money
Really fun to play with and reenact scenes from the film
Nice display piece
Cons;
There are literally none; this set is awesome!
I highly recommend buying this set as it makes a wonderful addition to any Star Wars LEGO collection, this is the set you are looking for.... "

He's no good to me dead
" The Carbon Freeing chamber is a set we have definitely waited a long time for, capturing one of the most profound moments in the Star Wars saga. The set itself is relatively small but is perfectly shaped; you could easily expand upon it if you wanted to, but if anything it is at least a good starting point for a cloud city collection. I hope this set is just to show us that LEGO are making more cloud city themed sets, as I think there is a lot that could be transferred from the film to playable sets. Anyway, pros and cons;
Pros;
Nice little design
Mechanism works well and is a good gimmick
the value for money is excellent because all three minifigures are quite rare; if you want to get Han Solo or Boba Fett you usually have to spend a bit of money
I'm pretty sure that the Ugnaught is a new edition, and they got him spot on
Great colours and unique pieces
Cons;
Could be seen as only a part of the carbon freezing chamber
should probably came with Leia for her famous dialogue with Han
limited playability
Overall I highly recommend that you purchase this set, along with the astonishing minifigures (nice addition of detail to Boba Fett btw!) and its potential as a display piece it is a very worthwhile set.
Please LEGO give us more cloud city and Dagobah themed sets!
