Great starter set
" I have purchased this set for my 16 month old son, and he thinks it is wonderful.
We have a great time playing peek a boo through the barn door as we open and close it and this set has had a very positive effect on my son's speach. This came about by making up a see-saw for the cat and dog to play on and myself singing the See-saw, Margery Daw Nursery Rhyme whilst rocking the cat and dog back and forth on their little see-saw. My son was delighted by this and very quickly picked up the rhyme and now frequently asks to play see-saw with the cat and dog whilst singing the see-saw rhyme.
As regard to the other bricks in the set, my son can't yet put the bricks together, but he has great fun pulling them apart and is working his way towards his first Duplo build.

I would recommend this set and would like to add that it comes complete with a sturdy storage box (which is excellent for keeping the Duplo bricks in (which come with the Duplo story book sets) too ).

A great classic for the future
" This for me has to be one of the best sets LEGO have ever made. I say this because I have always been a big fan of Haunted Houses and this one is packed full of scary fun.
The product comes in a series of plastic bags numbered 1 to 5 and with three instruction books, which makes the build very easy to manage, especially if you have a plain coloured tray to lay all of the pieces out before hand for each section.
It took me just over 6 hours to build my Haunted House and I built it over three days (one level at a time).
Originally I wanted to furnish my LEGO house once it had been built, but found it much easier to add the furniture and fittings in as I went, as it is difficult to get to the back of the rooms once the ceilings go on.
I love all of the detail in the fixtures and fittings in this set, in particular all of the odds and ends that can be found in the attic, including the gramophone. I was a little disappointed that the records and newspapers provided with this set were made up with stickers, considering that this set is not cheap and newspaper tiles have been printed for the Harry Potter sets in the past.

I did however like that fact that LEGO have given just enough pieces to add detail with this set, whilst leaving lots of opportunity for you to personalise it yourself. I have added much more detail to my Haunted House by adding features found in The Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter sets in particular. I also enjoy looking for rare pieces to store in the attic (to give it that more cluttered look).
The residents of the Haunted House are well detailed and I think that there are enough of them to make the house feel occupied whilst leaving room for a few guests (from the minifigure series). The ghosts are my favourite as they glow really well.
