Ahoy there me ‘arties
" Today I bring you some swashbuckling fun with LEGO ideas set 21313, the ship in a bottle. This set retails for $119.99AU, and weighs in at 962 pieces.
I have always wanted to build a ship in a bottle, but never had the time. This creation makes it fairly simple to create a beautiful display piece.
Positives of this set:
1. The end result is a truly beautiful display piece, that could sit pride of place on any display shelf, and make an interesting conversation piece for guests
2. This set has no sticker sheet!! This is a huge plus in my opinion, with the relatively few bricks that may have required stickers all being printed. The compass and globes in particular are lovely parts, and I am quite grateful to not have to be applying a perfectly centred sticker
3. The base with it’s included compass, shows you some interesting building techniques
4. The box art is beautiful, and takes you straight to the ocean
Down sides to this set for me were:
1. The price point is fairly high for the number of pieces, and 248 of those pieces are clear light blue studs that create the ocean inside the bottle
2. The ship itself could be a little more detailed, I will have to try and fiddle with this at some stage to see if I can improve upon this kit and create something that feels like a more robust model ship
3. When your hands are big, putting that bottle together is a real fiddle
4. Playability is fairly low due to the model being fragile, this is definitely more of a display piece.

Beach baby
" Awesome build, resembles the vw beetle beautifully. I love the surfboard. This set takes me straight to memories of beautiful days spent surfing at the beach. Now I just need to build a beautiful beach scene with the ultimate LEGO wave for it to park at! "

Campout fun
" Hi, today I will be reviewing 60117, LEGO city van and caravan.  This is a 250 piece set that punches above its weight in regards to value for money.  The set comes with 2 mini figures, a girl with tan pants and green torso with painted on necklace and light blue undershirt, and a boy with blue and red checked torso and light gray pants. It also comes with a cute little dog with black markings on his face and a couple of bones for him to gnaw on. The building of the van and caravan are both fairly easy as you would expect from this type of LEGO vehicle set. The van is fairly spacious inside, and has plenty of windows so the mini figures can enjoy the lovely mountain views on the drive to the campsite. The caravan contains a bed and mini kitchen with coffee machine.  The van has a great foldout wall making it easy to get mini figures in and out of during a play session.  There are a couple of stickers for the number plates, and the detailing on the van which add to the set and are not a great burden to apply. The set also comes with a little barbecue complete with sausages.  I had a bit of fun positioning the dog so he is ready to steal some sausages while his human friends are not looking.  This is a great set for the young builder in your life, and inspires the foundation for what could be a great camp out scene.
