One of my favorite sets
" This set had me smiling as it went together AND after it was done. It takes the best of LEGO's simpler times (pre-minifig) and combines great modern pieces and techniques. I have over 200 sets and this is one of my favorites. I don't leave my sets built; I like this one so much I've put it together twice.
It's also a very good starting point for customizing and creativity. Great stuff! Get it while it lasts.

Made me grin
" This set was given to me as a Christmas gift.
It is my first large walker set. I found the construction of the head and body very interesting. The first few sub-assemblies of the body left me wondering where it was going. I like that. I like seeing the very thoughtful technics the designers come up with to assemble shapes so solidly.
Fun build. "

Best LEGO model for the money!
" There is no doubt this is a simple kit, but as an adult fan of LEGO I must say I was truly grinning ear to ear as I snapped the last pieces together. Couldn't be happier with money spent on this small set! It's so well designed for such a small scale and small part count. "

Good design for the price
" This little set (with a little price) still has a lot to offer. It may not be the most feature filled, or have a lot of play value. What it does have is interesting design and construction. I think the cab area, with the little seats, is one of the more remarkable Technic construction designs - regardless of the size of the set.
I've built some of the most complicated Technic sets and still found this little truck fun to assemble. For others, it would be a perfect (inexpensive) introduction to the Technic theme building style.
I used the LEGO Technic Building Instructions application (on my iPad) to assemble this set. I loved that! I hope they expand the application to cover the larger sets too. "

Fun build. Not great to play with after.
" This set targets a certain spot in the Technic catalog. It's unique look is balanced by the lack of functions to play with. The steering, suspension, and tracks functions look cool and are fun to build, but offer very little satisfaction when you play with it. The crane is about as simple as it comes, but I kind of like it for that reason. LEGO designers have given us many sets with variously designed lifting arms. Many of them quite complicated. This one hits the intended mark of price and complexity. It is what I expected, so I'm not disappointed at all. I mostly got it for some of the unique elements such as the small linear actuators, universal joints, and ball joints. This is also my first set with the new gear box element. I like the new gearbox concept a lot and I know their are many applications.
As always, I enjoy following the instructions and watching the set come together. I marvel at the amount of thought and work that goes into bringing these kits to market.

Good value, good build
" This was my second Technic build (the previous one being in 1997), so I'm no Technic expert. I have had LEGO all my life.
This kit is a blast to build! The engineering that goes into the design is amazing. It's had to imagine how they come up with all the details that lock sections together to make such a strong structure, yet still have the end result look realistic. The fact that they incorporate all the motors into this one model makes it even more amazing!
The instructions are another work of industrial art! I found it great fun to follow along, AND look ahead to see what assembly I was making. You do need to pay attention to details - there are some similar pegs that can be inserted in different ways, but only one way is correct.
It seems that someone at LEGO reads these reviews, so I offer some constructive feedback: I like the parts list with part numbers (and quantities) at the end of the instructions, but I would also like to see the part numbers with the images on each step. Also, I would benefit from adding images of the various gears in 1:1 scale, similar to how they do some other parts.
