It's not bad, but I don't know what it's for?
" Whilst perusing the local supermarket and picking up Luke's Landspeeder, I also spotted this chap, a fighter craft flown by none other than the irrepressible Yoda!
Wait, what? Yoda, in a Starfighter? Now I'll admit to not paying that much attention to the prequels, but I genuinely don't recall Yoda in a plane. On Dagobah, yes. In the imperial council chambers, yes. In space, flying a craft? Nope.
The ship itself is actually a very tidy build, in an unusual colour for Star Wars fighters. It's a very solid construction and mostly interesting to build, but as usual for quad wing Jedi designs, it gets a bit repetitive at the wing building stage. Still, hardly Lego's fault the good guys appreciate symmetry. The ship has a good spot for standing Yoda in (as he's short, he isn't afforded bending minifig legs), but there's absolutely nowhere for his light sabre to go. Yoda himself is a lovely design and his droid companion is... hold on, R2-D2? Since when did... oh, never mind, I don't even know where this ship featured! But this does mean I now have nearly as many R2s as Stormtroopers. Lots of Stormtroopers is a good thing, but so many R2s is just silly. Why is he in so many sets?
I'll confess, the sole reason I bought it was so I could have a Yoda figure. For some reason, I've never been able to grab any other set with this tiny green Jedi in it and he's waaaay too big a character to be missing out on. It cost me twenty quid, but that's too much to pay for a missing figure and, to be honest, I'm glad the ship itself is a smart looking thing or I'd have been really annoyed with myself. "

A tidy build, but those window pieces!
" I bought this for myself with some money I got for my birthday, after the fun I'd had building the T1. I had seen this on YouTube as well and liked the look of it.
The build itself is fiddly, especially those chequered seats, but it's not complicated, with clear instructions throughout. The build itself is pretty solid and has some neat touches, especially the moving seats, the spare wheel under the false floor in the boot, the choice of number plates and that lovely replica of the A Series engine under the bonnet. Everything is nice and sturdy (except for the flimsy door mirrors) and feels like it would stand up to a bit of use.
However, there are one or two issues I have with it. I like the cooler box, but it falls apart too easily. The steering wheel is far too big and actually touches the drivers seat. But these are overshadowed by those front and rear windscreen pieces which are simply too deep and spoil the look, especially the front windscreen which is clearly visible through the door openings. Yuck! I know losing a brick for what is really a cosmetic thing seems a bit much, but when you're spending £75 on a model with this level of detail, it's just too much of a mis-step to ignore.
I'd recommend the build as it does look good, but I'd really like you to fix that window issue. Please! "

Excellent model, with just a few niggles
" I remembered seeing this being built on a YouTube video some time ago, so when my birthday clocked around and I was asked what I wanted, I said I'd like this. As it wasn't in any of the local Lego stores, I ended up being given the money so I could order it from the web store. One massive plus point for this was, in spite of ordering just two days before, it arrived on my birthday, just in time for me to get cracking on it!
It took me a good five and a half hours to put together as some of the sections are quite fiddly for my ageing fingers, but it was straightforward enough to follow.
The model itself is very well designed, on the whole, and the way the curved sections are created are fantastic. I like the ingenuity used to get things like the bumpers and light fittings to line up like on the real thing, although the bumpers themselves are a tad fragile. I'm not keen on the stickers either and one of them, after trying to realign it, ended up going a bit translucent, so the front split window looks a bit of a mess now.
I love the little details on the model, such as the brake and accelerator pedals, the moving seat bench/bed, the cupboard and so on, but my absolute favourite must be the tiny little air-cooled engine located behind the opening engine bay door, complete with cylinder head and fan belt!
However, there are a couple of things I'm not so keen on. Having the wheels on fixed axles isn't great, but not the worst thing. The double doors into the living quarters don't close together properly, one of them is able to go a good few millimetres further in than the other and it doesn't look great. But the real annoyance is that roof: It's been mentioned before, but I'll say it again, it's just too fragile. The rising canopy breaks off way too easily when used and the rear end just collapses when trying to take it off. I can see how it can be strengthened, but it would require some reworking and would ultimately ruin the lines.
All that said, it's a really nice set. I'm looking forward to building it again! "
