A Pleasant Surprise
" I bought this for $49 on Amazon and this set exceeded all my expectations. Here are my thoughts.
1. The build: The tie striker is amazingly well designed. The wings are controlled by little levers in the back, and their functionality is crazy cool. The wings rest in the down position but if you put them in the up position, they will stay there. Even if you try to push the wings down from the up position, they will stay up. You can spin the ship 360 degrees and they will not budge from the up position until you use the lever to put them down!
The cockpit is decent, and the back storage is pretty cool. Overall, you will have a great time building this.
2. The minifigures: None of the minifgures are dull, they all are better well designed. The sand trooper seems to be some type of commander with one gray arm, and the helmet design and overall printing look great. The tie pilot and ground crew soldier both have great body printing. The tie pilot helmet is really cool looking and while the ground crew soldier has a boring helmet, a headset printed on the head itself makes up for it. Finally, the rebel soldier took me by surprise. The helmet has the rebel insignia on the right side, and it looks great. The overall color scheme of the rebel works out great, I'm in love with that minifig.
3. The price: $70 is too high of a price, but if this set is marked at 60 or under, get it. Even if you can not hit the 10 cents per piece goal, buy it anyways. It is one of the most thoughtfully designed sets I have seen in a long time. "

" This is an amazing set. 565 pieces for $40! That is amazing! I hate spending money but I bought 3, and it was worth it.
Pros:
-The Carrier: Sometimes when Lego sells a set for the troops, the vehicle it comes with is mediocre. That is not the case. The carrier is well thought out: using interesting building techniques, creating cool little features, having a great looking design, and it leaves an opening on the back so you can combine carriers.
-The Droids: I love being able to buy bad guys in bulk. With more good guys than bad guys in lego sets, I need a lot of droids to even the odds. This is the set I was looking for.
-THE PRICE: I can not repeat how amazing the price is. 565 pieces for $40 is unheard of from Lego.
-The Gungan: He is cool and I like the shield.
The Cons:
I am not picky enough to find any major cons.
Overall, this set is going to retire soon. BUY WHILE YOU CAN. A set this good from the clone wars isn't going to happen for a long, long time. "
