"Expensive... yes (although you can find it cheaper...) but a very very good set, packaging is more akin to Apple's than lego's, theres a story behind the development of the thing and the instruction book rivals the yellow pages in size... Im about half way through it so far and its been very enjoyable, not much repetition and boring bits. You do need to pay attention, ive goofed up a couple of bits which have required some major surgery later on... if you buy one model this year, make it this one..."
"This thing is huge, physically the biggest Technic model i've built and the most complex (currently half way through the 911 which i'm finding easier and more enjoyable!). It does get a little repetitive and arduous at times, its not a model for those who want a quick and exciting build but once you battle through the end result is satisfying! Some of the pipework routing in the manual is rubbish... you have to figure the odd bit out as its not clear in the instructions at one point, luckily its logical. One reason i bought it is its the modern version of kid 8868 which i had as a kid (and looks like a toy in comparison to this one!)"
"This is a great set, a good build with the odd challenging bit but mostly very straight forward. Amazed at some of the features like the rotating cab and the ability to switch steering modes between crab, 4 wheel and 2 wheel. really well thought out and true to the real thing. Picked it up for a bargain in a sale as well."
