"I was pretty excited when I saw that this kit was coming out and wasn’t disappointed. I prefer these kits where the bags aren’t numbered as it makes it feel more like building a complex puzzle instead of a paint by number. While I’m not normally a fan of a lot of stickers it works for this model because it’s a race design but I think fewer would have been better. The color scheme with white, black and red is excellent, it makes the rear and front look very cool. There weren’t any special bricks or new build techniques but overall it was worth the price."
"I love this set and I think the design work is very clever. I like that it's not as repetitive as several of the other architecture sets are and the colours work well together. The finished product makes for a nice display piece too. Highly recommend this kit."
"I was excited to get this kit as soon as I saw it and I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't keen on building version 1 with the big plastic shovel, I wanted to build version 2, the dump truck. It wasn't a difficult build just fun, which is all I am always looking for, and it's very durable. The 3 different gear systems are pretty cool, with one operating the wheels and the others the box on the back. I was a little surprised to find 286 parts left over after building this version but it's okay, I can use them on my own next design. I recommend this model if you just want to have some fun."
"I’m so glad I disregarded the few negative reviews on this model and bought it because it’s excellent! It also includes some new build techniques, at least for me, and is a pretty cool display for my desk. There’s nothing wrong with the stability if you are familiar with how figures like this work. Thanks, LEGO, for the awesome kit!"
"This was the most challenging Technic model I've built to date and I loved it. Clearly a lot of thought went into this design by adding several gearing systems, a new (to me anyway) seat design, very cool shocks, several opening doors, and the very nice violet and black colouring scheme to mention a few. I only used the small decals as I thought the larger ones spoiled the colouring design but that was a personal choice. It's very easy to make mistakes on this model if you aren't paying attention which added to the appeal. I'm glad a motor wasn't included as that would only drive the cost up. I hope Lego makes more challenging designs like this one in the future."
"I haven’t been building LEGO sets long but this is one of the best I’ve enjoyed so far. I love the colour scheme, it’s very stable, the overall artistic design is fabulous, and the modular construction with the swinging wall is unique. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars only because I thought the pieces added for the inside “crates” and walls was overkill. Just my opinion. The highlight of the model without a doubt is the rubber seagulls! Overall an exceptional build that didn’t involve Star Wars or Ninjas so how can you go wrong? I would definitely buy another kit like this if one was sold."
"Sticker shock is what kept me from purchasing this kit initially but I finally broke down and bought it. Overall this is the best model I’ve built to date, mind you it was also only my 4th one. The packaging was very well thought out and was designed to make the kit as special as it is. The colouring is beautiful and so is the build manual and building it was so fun from beginning to end. It’s a very durable model and should be a centrepiece for any collection. You won’t be disappointed if you buy one."
"I was pretty excited to finally grab one of these kits and I wasn’t disappointed. It had its challenges though because of how fragile it was in some areas of each section which also added a little frustration and was why I only gave it 4 stars. Once complete it’s pretty cool but make sure you handle it carefully and with two hands not one or you may end up rebuilding it like I did when the sections separated and broke on the floor when they fell. They are designed to come apart and they do. All in all a very nice model."
