A well detailed Airport Fire Truck
" We finally get another rescue/fire truck after a hiatus of 14 years. For all of you adult fans the last one was 8454 Rescue Truck back in 2003.
Out of all the new sets that we're recently released here in the USA, I chose to purchase 5 of the 7, and out of those 5 we're all 3 summer-release sets.
I have to say I'm plenty impressed with this set. I was surprised at how many pieces it had and the low price tag, so price per piece average made for excellent value. It has the usual items you would expect for a fire/rescue truck for an airport. Front nozzle, and over head nozzle, only with this release, the nozzle is much more playable. It not only is flexible and turns, it also raises up with the cherry picker type extension above the truck itself. All of the side panels open upwards to reveal some goodies, mainly tools and the like you would find with most emergency type pumper trucks. The vehicle has a 4-cylinder engine and a rear differential to feed the power of the engine to each of the rear wheels. Also, 2 of the 3 axles are steering axles, so you get 4-wheel steering, it is really cool to see this feature as it minimizes the turning radius of the truck.
You can also add set# 8293 to motorize the turning and raising of the boom, a nice feature absent from the eclectic predecessor, the 8454 Rescue Truck. A scale above the previous actual fire engine from 2006, which had limited features. The only thing that is missing in my mind are outriggers that would stabilize the truck when the boom is raised up for fighting a fire from atop. Also, the 8293 kit offers a LED light kit to illuminate two front top of the cab spotlights, a nice touch.
Overall, the only con I see with this model is the lack of outrigger stabilizers, but otherwise, its a well detailed, realistic model and well worth the money.
For children getting into medium level Technic, I think this model would be a great starting point, among so many other medium size sets of the last 2 years that are all still available on Lego.com.
Kudos to the designer of this model, it is an excellent representation and a perfect entry-level summer 2017 set.
Next review will be the 42069 Extreme Adventure. Stay tuned. "

A great multi-part kit
" I bought this with some trepidation as to any challenge involved, but since I collect just about every set that is released, it was on my list, even I prefer the larger builds. Sometimes the smaller sets just really surprise you with their features, different ways to use Lego elements, etc. I was thoroughly impressed with the 42057 Ultralight Helicopter and even a >200 piece model can really end up being a lot of fun, not only the build, but the playability.
Getting back to the 42062 Container Yard, it has enormous playability, both A and B models. The truck w/ flatbed trailer is rather simple but it holds the containers perfectly inside its 'rails'. What I had the most fun with is the container stacker. While I figured it would be like the 42061 Telehandler kit that was also released earlier this year, it really wasn't. Its a bit scaled down size-wise. Extending and retracting the boom with the attachment component on the end was brilliant, especially the T-pieces that you have to line up with with the holes in the top of each of the 2 containers. Driving the stacker to the flatbed truck and its actually harder than you think to correctly drop and place the containers on the flatbed, which adds to the fun. Many times you have to back up and give it another go forward. Replay value = over and over. Not a set you would get bored with easily. Even for a middle-aged adult who has loved Technic for nearly 2 decades, I have had loads of fun with this process and with the set in general, as would the target age range of 8-14 yrs.
I believe it is worth the money, and I highly recommend purchasing this kit. Plus, you can build the alternate model, which I haven't done, having too much fun with the main model. "

A great true-to-life Telehandler
" A welcome addition to the current Technic lineup. The 42061 Telehandler is a small-medium size, compact model that showcases everything that a real life telehandler performs.
The features include a boom that raises via a small linear actuator cylinder, a unique way of extending the boom outwards with a new 1-length worm screw, and a gear-operated mechanism that tilts the bucket up and down, as well as working steering. Every function works flawlessly and smoothly.
Put it all together with an eye-catching dark grey and red color scheme and kids and adult fans alike will enjoy not only playing with the telehandler but displaying it as well.
A definite must have from the winter 2017 Technic lineup. "
