"This set looks nice with an orange, black and white colour scheme with actually looks quite good.
The mechanism works well. You twist a cog which forces a worn gear to higher or lower the boom of the cherry picker. It works smoothly and is very impressive.
I really would have liked to see steering on this though, just like the 42084 Hook Loader did ,which is the same price as this 42088 Cherry Picker.
I really like this set as it is great value for money and has a great working smooth mechanism."
"The colour scheme looks epic with green, black and grey, and the size is just right as well. The rear spoiler is well constructed and adds a sporty look to the vehicle. The stickers, in my opinion, are essential to make the vehicle look sporty. Furthermore, I like the fire-like effect used.
The wheels look lovely and rough, so there is very good grip.
I like the inclusion of the engine pop-out feature because it is very fun to watch. The pull back feature works well, however, some technic parts come loose after impact. Therefore, the vehicle is not very durable.
The build process was challenging with some confusing steps that children may find hard to do.
Overall, the build looks great, works fine, and is relatively fun to build. The price is quite expensive for the number of pieces you get, and for the play value."
"First of all, this LEGO Technic set has a unique red, black and grey colour scheme, and all the colours work well with each other. The detailing throughout makes this set look ultra-realistic.
This set also features good-sized wheels, adding to an aggressive and strong overall look.
Furthermore, I like how both seats can be folded down.
The 1st mechanism works well. You turn a knob and the wheels turn accordingly for steering the hook loader.
The 2nd Mechanism is the best and is very fun to operate. You turn a knob, and that turns 3 other knobs, and that loads the tray onto the ground. When you have loaded some bricks, then you can turn the knob again and the tray will go back onto the truck.
This set is very good value. It contains 176 pieces and it is a thrilling build. I would highly recommend this."
"This is my first Lego Minecraft set, and I must say, on first glance, it looks really good! The whole cave build is big enough for the price and the volume of stuff you get for your money is also very good. I like how the designers have also incorporated a lake next to the cave ; it creates a nicer scene. Also, it feels like a cave and is very well built up. This set is SO much fun to build. This is because there is no repetition in the build and its such an interesting build. Because its a minecraft scene, everything is built up differently than it would be in another lego line, such as lego city or creator, for example. Also, In those sets, there is a lot of symmetry. In this set, everything is quite intricate.
The minifigures chosen and the amount included in this set is very appropriate for both the price and the "zombie cave" setting of this set. The Steve figure is nice, and holds both a cookie and a pickaxe in his hand. The zombie is quite creepy and fits into the scene here. The baby zombie is cute and kids will have a lot of fun playing with it.
The play VALUE with this set is simply amazing for the price. There is so much to do. Be creative. Open up your imagination. You can create a real Minecraft story here with this playset. The amount is figures is enough and the terrain is enough as well. You can make up YOUR OWN STORY; there is so much you can do. Fight zombie, pick up sugar cane, blast your way into the cave, eat the sugar cane, steal the fence, grab the ores, jump over the lava, fight the baby zombie, climb up the ladder, smelt the iron ore into iron ingot using the included brick built furnace, grab the torch to light your way through the dark cave, etc. This is a set for not only kids that have a lot of imagination, but also pretty much everyone else.
The TWO play features that are included in this set are really good. The TNT exploding one is very fun to do and the gravel falling one is also very Minecraft realistic and is very well thought out, though it doesn't always work. (You have to pull the knob out quite far).
The accessories and attention to detail are quite good throughout. I like the inclusion of the furnace and the torch; it just adds to the scene, making the scene more enjoyable. Furthermore, I really like how the designers didn't leave the water section with nothing else on it; they actually added sugar cane. It's these extra details that work for me. Furthermore, the inclusion of a fence makes this scene more Minecraft realistic and more nicer to look at. Once again, these details are so vital in a set like this. In addition to this, the details like the ladder, cookie, pickaxe and the flowers are also really good to see in this absolutely amazing lego set.
It's also really nice to see that Lego designers included most of the ores from Minecraft. This set includes diamond ore, coal ore, Redstone ore and gold ore! I like the way the ores are built, and the ores look identical to those in Minecraft!
So, now we come onto the things that could be improved in this already nearly perfect lego Minecraft set. Now, as I mentioned earlier, I love attention to detail. Its little things that would make this set perfect. In the water, I strongly think that at least 1 lily pad SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDED. It would not have changed the piece count much, and therefore it would not have changed the price at all. IT WOULD HAVE ADDED THAT EXTRA DETAIL THAT EVERY SET BENEFITS FROM. I can't believe that lego designers did not think of this. Also, this set should have more flowers and decorative elements on the grass. A spider should also be included.
One word. Amazing. That is how I describe this set. The play functions work well, the accessories work and this set looks lovely! Well done to the Lego Minecraft team for creating this set that is not even very expensive: £/$20. This set is highly recommended by me."
"I have been wanting this set for a long time now mainly because of the light brick and the tracks, which I have never got in any other set before.
First of all, the look is great and I love the light blue colour scheme and it works well against the contrasting black. The head has a lot of articulation and looks so adorable! The eyes look so nice as well and I like the use of the green round tiles to represent eyes. The arms have a lot of articulation as well and also look amazing! In addition, the body is nicely curved and uses black, light blue and white as the colour scheme, and they work very well! Furthermore, the body has sideways rotation which is really cool, just like a real robot would have! The bottom section looks great as well with the light blue contrasting against the black tracks.
The rocks included are also a nice addition and are useful for play when the Robo Explorer wants to explore the rocks!
The light brick works really well as it looks cool and illuminated much brightly than I thought! This is useful for exploring the rocks, as the robo explorer can shine the light on the mysterious rocks to find out what they are and perhaps scan them! Children will have a lot of fun with this set because of the working tracks, the light bricks, the rocks, the articulation, and everything!
The tracks work really well as they are smooth and very fun to roll around and to have fun with!
I do wish that the robot could be a bit taller though and for the price to be less expensive.
Overall, this is an amazing set! Absolutely amazing! I love everything about it and I know that kids will absolutely love this set just as much as I do!"
"This is a cool technic set as the overall appearance looks nice as I love the colour scheme, and of course, I am a big fan of the landing gear function. I think that it has been integrated nicely, but they could have put the knob on the other side for right handed people to have easier access to the landing gear knob.
I also love the sheer size of the thing. The picture on the box and the size of the box make the model seem SO MUCH smaller than it actually is. When I actually built this, I thought it was ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE. I did not know how big it actually was. It's even longer in length than 2017- 42057, which I have previously reviewed!
I absolutely love this set, mainly because of the size and the super fun and awesome landing gear function. It works extremely smoothly and is done to perfection. I also really like the shaping of this jet plane as well!
However, I really would like to have seen: .A bigger box size so that the scale is recognizable.
.The landing gear knob function on the opposite side or possibly both sides
"This model looks amazing! First of all, it replicates the look of the real Mercedes AMG GT3, using the yellow wheels and the yellow stripes.
The colour scheme is spot on, making this model look absolutely awesome and ready to race!
The build was simple and fun! I love how Lego gives an exclusive Mercedes Minifigure with this set, and it fits with the colour scheme well and is the right choice.
The wheel inserts and the wheels stand about and have a good effect on the set. The wing is nicely angled as well! I like how Lego includes two options for the wheel inserts AND two options for the look of the front section, making it easy to customize your own Mercedes AMG GT3.
"This is a really nice creativity box. It contains different shades of green, and have diverse and creative builds.
I love the crocodile and castle builds because they are very striking, simple and they look amazing! I am not a big fan of the truck build. I really think they could have put more effort into making it look nicer. Overall, it is a cheap and creative set for children to unleash their imagination, so it is recommended by me!"
