"This was my first trip into the Architecture series and, overall this was a fun build. The pics don't do it justice on the size, and it is solidly built. The set makes an overall great display piece...
That being said, the designers should have done more for the face. The "face" plate is ridiculous...there is zero reason a contoured plate could not have been recreated for the face, or at least a printed one. I had to find a mod to at least give it some depth. It's really a shame more wasn't done for this and for the tablet."
"Overall, the finished product is fantastic, very solidly built and displays well. Playability is virtually zero because the only really moving parts are the arms. If the price comes down, I may buy another so I can display both versions (Voltron and individual lions). Only word of advice is make sure you pay attention to the orientation of the dark grey connecting pieces of the green and red lion's legs. If you don't put them as directed, the legs won't fold properly when you combine them. Highly recommend this set"
"The Brickheadz sets are growing on me and are a nice change of pace. The Marty and Doc Brown set is no different. Both are pretty recognizable and display nicely. Hopefully LEGO will be releasing a new delorean to go w them."
"The buildable figures have kind of earned a special place in my heart as a collector. It gives the ability to have so much more detail than can be obtained via a minifig. The Darth Maul figure takes it to a new level with the ability to swing his arms via the wheel on his back. My only complaint with it is that the part takes away from the overall look of him, it's very noticeable. I also wish he had come with his cape and hood to give him a little different look from the standard fighting position. LEGO is getting better at covering up the technique pieces that are used to build the structure and I'm hoping that continues. Overall, he'll make a great addition to my collection."
"The Lego designers def learned from the Snowspeeder's build shortcomings, the y wing is solid tip to tail. The amount of detail put into it is fantastic and will look great w the rest of my UCS builds. This thing is huge, 24" long and 15" wide. My only two complaints are how the tail fins go on, they are very loose bc they don't fit in the holes well (holes are too small) and I imagine they will need to be reattached at some point. My other complaint is the stickers needed on the body panels and cockpit controls. Printed plates would have looked so much better. Overall, I'm happy w it"
"As others have noted, this build is a bit more challenging because the bags are not numbered like other creator expert sets so it forces you to take some time and organize the pieces before you start building, otherwise, you'll drive yourself crazy. The functionality of the van is pretty cool, there are a lot of moving/opening parts and the detail on it is nice.
My only complaint is in the instructions and the actual color of pieces. I spent the better part of 25 minutes combing through the parts trying to find what appeared to be gun metal gray pieces, only to finally realize they were actually supposed to be black. The technic pins in the book were actually black pieces so I assumed the other black pieces would be as well. Not sure how you fix that but it can be quite frustrating until you figure it out. This set will look good with the rest of my creator sets (bug, Ferrari, etc)."
"I have started building a few of the technic set and really enjoyed this one. It's a good size piece (like the other technic sets) and, if you so choose, can be played with, although mine is specifically for display. The details are pretty cool (there is a fire extinguisher in the cockpit) although I wish they would expand the motor line, kind of tired of building the same motor for each of them. The color scheme is pretty good and the stickers aren't overtly garish."
"Overall, I enjoyed the build as a whole and love the final product. I only have one complaint, I'm not a fan of the "colored" technic connectors (blue, red, etc), especially the blue ones on the handles...seems like there could have been a way to get these done with grey or black so as to better blend in with the bike. Otherwise, looks good."
"That's really the main benefit of this set...it's one of the few iconic moments from the prequels. I was not a huge fan of the "scene" sets, but I have gotten to like them because most are iconic moments (mos eisley cantina, han being frozen in kryptonite, final duel, etc). The set is very simple and a bit repetitive since it's only a couple hundred pieces and most of the base is the same...still a nice addition to the overall Star Wars universe. I may add a circular base to further increase the overall prominence...as it is now, not very impressive with the rest of my collection."
"Overall, this was a pretty fun set...I like the ones that combine the technic and regular lego bricks and this one had a nice mix. I am a little disappointed with the overall size (as other's have mentioned). For 1100+ pieces, I expected a bit larger (I know the measurements are on the box) but I think it could have been made a bit larger to smooth out some of the angles. It's a nice piece to add to a display collection and will look good next to my Caterham 620R. Only complaint is that the hood takes a bit of maneuvering to sit properly...might have been something I did but not so much of an annoyance to rebuild the section."
