Good building choice, but details cut short
" Our Winter Village will benefit from a Train Station, as we set it up under the tree with a railroad track. SO I'm happy with LEGO's choice this year to make this style of building. But this edition is REALLY disappointing compared to previous years in terms of the interior, exterior and holiday details. LEGO cut this one short. I'll raid our bricks collection, plus order some extra pieces from Bricks N Pieces to try to get this closer to where it should have been designed in the first place. "

A low value for the money
" Compared to other Batman Movie sets this is disappointing to see a "wave 2" set like this as a lost opportunity for play and collectible minifigures. This is a nice version of Harley included, but she has appeared in a couple other sets. To be more attractive for play and collectibility it needed one or two of the movie's B-team villains that haven't been released like Egghead, Crazy Quilt, Killer Moth, Gentleman Ghost, Clock King, Captain Boomerang or Condiment King (yay!). A good Scooby Doo adventure
" This set is nice for the mood and adventure it can create for imagining the adventure and solving the mystery of the haunted lighthouse. How cool is that? It has a skull cave for hiding the treasure chest! And like all the Scooby Doo sets the "monsters" are just bad guys dressed up— perfect for the scientifically-minded person in your life. :-)
What could have made this better is to have a more authentically-styled boat. There is no "Mystery Machine" styled boat in the cartoons. Plus a more realistic boat wouldn't have to use the labels; I'm a fan of when LEGO prints on pieces. Instead I would have preferred a "Danger Prone Daphne" variant—as you know she is gonna get captured before the mystery is solved! Shaggy's seaweed covered variant is a nice touch, though. "

Not impressed
" A mini set like this ought to be an enticing opportunity to fill in a collection with interesting mini figures (like the awesome Double Decker Couch or Batman and Angry Kitty sets from the Lego Movie collection). The Mummy "monster" is good, but the Shag and Scoob figs do not make this otherwise unimpressive set worth collecting. They should have come up with better variants. "

Charming but this many stick-on labels is lame
" This set is the iconic, charming and a necessary "accessory" for LEGO Scooby Doo adventures. Unfortunately this much quantity and size of labels requiring affixing requires the helpful dexterity of a parent to not risk the Mystery Machine's decor patterns being askew or not aligning. "
