Another great modular set!
" I bought the Pet Shop last month but didn't get a chance to build it until this weekend. I had my gf over and we built it together. She helped pre-sort all the pieces and even built a few sections. The build was very fun and this set is all about the small details. There are a lot of micro-builds that will put a smile on your face - the toilet, quilted bed and 'PETS' sign to name a few. This is my second modular set after the Grand Emporium and they look great together.
While not as "big" as some of the previous modular sets, this set scores highly based on the wonderfully entertaining micro-builds, flexibility (can split the two buildings and arrange them as you please) and general appeal. I highly recommend this set! "

Gorgeous modular set!
" This is my first modular build and I must say I'm quite impressed by the exquisite exterior detailing. To me, this is the selling point of this set. While others have commented on the rather "bare" interior, that can be easily remedied by adding your own furniture / items. The overall build was fun and wasn't too repetitive. I especially liked the way they constructed the word "SHOP" - quite creative!
I am very happy with this purchase and would do it all over again if I could.
This is a great modular set that would probably be retired this year. Get it while you still have the chance!

A great castle set!
" I've owned mostly Technic sets and when I heard that the Kingdoms theme may soon be discontinued, I decided to give this set a try. It has a pretty good price per piece ratio and I was impressed with the building techniques they used. If you appreciate little details, then this set will impress. I loved the tiling and different types of bricks they used for the walls. The red colour of the roof provided great contrast to the grey walls. The build was very enjoyable - it only took a few hours to build. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I would totally buy another one to combine the two sets. Now that would be a grand spectacle! "

Unimog U400 - review from AFOL out of retirement
" I got into back into Lego after an 18 year hiatus. I have always preferred Technic sets since I loved seeing how things worked from a mechanical perspective. I love how every piece works together to create a function. This set did not disappoint. What a wonderful way to bring me back into Lego!
The build:
It took me about a couple of days for roughly about 14 hours. The set came with numbered bags but I did not sort the pieces and instead dumped them all in a pile. I spent a lot of time verifying my build was correct because there are times when the placement is tricky in the diagram.
The result:
The set is large - at over 2000 pieces, this is a far cry from the small to medium sized Technic sets I used to build as a young teen. You'll appreciate how all the small pieces come together to create this awesome truck with many features. The pneumatic functions for the crane are awesome. With a bit of practice, you can get the subtleties of the controls down and work the three levers with relative ease. The motorized winch is also another great feature. The motor is strong enough to pull the Unimog's own weight across a flat surface.
Verdict:
Lego Technic has come a long way since the early 90's and I'm glad I picked up this engineering project. It was a wonderfully challenging build that's great for older teens and adults. Pick it up before it is discontinued!
