Don't buy this set!
" I'm serious! Don't buy this set! It's mine! You can't have it! I purchased one of these the day they went on sale, which was Christmas 2008. And I have to have at least one more of these, as soon as I can afford it.
Anyway, I could go on and on about how great this set is. I can't think of one single negative thing to say about it. And the truth is, if you don't own this set, I feel sorry for you. It's truly the best Castle-themed set that LEGO has ever created, hands down.
And six hours is actually a really quick time to sort the parts included and assemble them. There are 1,600+ parts in this set and the bags containing the parts aren't numbered at all, so be advised of that if you are thinking that the 12+ age recommendation is inaccurate. I wouldn't recommend this set for children who are much younger. And you're going to need a large area to sort the parts. I would recommend a table that's 4 feet by 4 feet or larger.
Having said all that, this is a fun set to build and very rewarding once completed. The value is excellent, considering that LEGO rarely prices a set with this many parts at this price. And there are a ton of minifigures and accessories that make the play experience potential of this set second to none.
The buildings are well-designed and very solid once built. And the architectural techniques used are very inspiring to those who are looking for building ideas for their currently owned parts.
I would recommend this to any and all LEGO fans. You won't be disappointed. But seriously though, save another one of these for me. "

Worth it's weight in gold
" If you take the LEGOs you build apart, you need this. Not just one, but two of them. One of them works great for removing plates and tiles from baseplates. But have you ever put together two 1x2, 1x3, or 1x4 plates and can't separate them? Just snap this onto the top of one of them and snap another one onto the bottom of the other one and pull them apart. I promise you, it WILL separate those stubborn little plates with ease. If you have one of these, good for you. But if you only have one, then get another. And if you're planning on ordering one of these, you'd better make it two. They're pretty cheap and they'll make your life so much easier. I guarantee it. "

 LEGO Castle: Troll Warship
LEGO Castle: Troll Warship
Beware the crimson sails of the Troll Warship! With a crew of battle-hardened troll warriors at the oars and a towering Giant Troll for extra muscle, this fearsome ship attacks from the sea with a net, prison cage and firing launcher. Only the knight with the courage to ride the armored dragon has a chance at stopping it and saving the prisoner! Includes 6 troll warriors, a knight and dwarf minifigure, plus a 3" (8cm) tall giant troll and lots of accessories! Includes armored dragon that is 13" (33cm) long with a 13" (33cm) wingspan! Ship has a removable prison with a door that really opens! Use the working gear to lower the net and save the dwarf! The ship's launcher rotates 360 degrees and really fires! Help the troll warriors row to the beat of the giant troll's drum! Detach the two smaller boats from the ship! Troll Warship measures 20" (51cm) long, 13"(33cm) high and 5" (13cm) wide!

This thing is as big as the King's Castle!
" I was pleasantly surprised to discover how big this ship is. It's quite impressive. The removable prison cell with keys, torch launcher, two rowboats, armored green dragon, giant troll, and elusive dwarf minifigure are all nice touches. At first I wasn't sure about the value of the set, but it really is worth the price.
The ship itself is very easy to assemble and is pretty solid once it's built. The upper rear deck of the ship lifts off easily to reveal plenty of storage space for extra troll warriors and bricks with clips to store your weapons, as well as the included pet rat. The cargo winch is a bit of a pain to assemble, but functions decently. I would say this set would lose a point or two under the Build Experience category due to that, if such a rating category existed.
All in all, this is an excellent set. The number of minifigures that are included, as well as the dragon, makes this ship and two boat set worth the price. Just stick the giant troll and his huge drum in one of the rowboats and send him off on his way and you'll have plenty more room for a troll attack squad onboard the ship. Highly recommended. "

One of the better siege vehicle sets out there
" This is a pretty large (123 piece) set for under $10. You get two skeletons, one white and one black, two crown knights, a barricade for the skeletons which matches the other skeletons' sets black and red color scheme nicely, a number of weapons and shields, and probably the best siege vehicle that LEGO has put out in years.
The mobile catapult has large free-rolling wheels and features plenty of gold and dark blue accents, giving it a nice royal look. It also comes complete with a boulder that, with practice, can be launched with fair accuracy at any target.
The reason I only gave it four bricks for Play Experience is that the it's just a catapult, and as such, has limited uses. But it can be used against dragons with much more effectiveness than most of the weapons in the current Castle theme sets.
All in all, it's an excellent set. The base of the catapult can be used to build a variety of siege vehicles, such as a ballista, arsenal wagon, or even a prison wagon. And it does come with four minifigures, making it more affordable for building crown knight and skeleton armies than purchasing impulse sets. Highly recommended. "
