"Having recently rebuilt some of my older Architecture skylines, particularly thinking of Venice, when I got this new set, I was really really impressed by the depth of the representations. I agree with another reviewer that it is not simply buildings all separate, but there has been an effort made to group the buildings and give the skyline less of a '2d' look. I particularly love the mini coloured houses, they are really cute. My favourite of the skyline series so far......"

Amazing concept, but a few niggles
"Right from the moment I saw this on Lego Ideas, I started saving. I adore tall ships, and Lego, and this was so exciting to wait for. Then to my first disappointment ...the ship did not look as elegant as the original. In streamlining the piece count, the ship has ultimately lost out. Which is a shame as the piece count is artificially inflated due to the heaps of water pieces. My second disappointment was finding that the RRP I had expected of €70 as marketed, was actually €85 for me in Ireland. Absolutely no idea why this is the case, I'm still dumbfounded. However, it was still something that I wanted, so having saved some more I purchased it, and a couple of items to reach the free gift limit for the 60 years, as I spotted the mini ship in it might well fit the bottle.
The build was really interesting, but as with previous posters, there was a poor quality with the various transparent pieces, many were very yellowed. I found the base quite complicated with tiny pieces, I'm not convinced that this is the most efficient way to achieve it, but have yet to work out a different solution. The ship was nice to build, but really feels like an ugly sister barge. The stand and cork are the best looking parts.
Having grumbled much about this set, it still does look great on display, and I was quite particular about wearing gloves in assembling the bottle so that they would not be smudged and fingerprinted. Not sure I'd let the kids near it though, it's a bit delicate.
There's plenty of potential in the set, I have plans to change out the ship for things like the mini Millenium Falcon, and the mini ship from the 60th anniversary promotion set. Lots of happy procrastination ahead from actual real life things....!!
And one very small niggle, was that the monogram on the seal of the bottle was not of the original designer of the set, but the Lego 'redesigner', I felt that was a bit disrespectful."
"We've built a few mini house/shop sets recently, but really I had been waiting to get this one for a while. I was not disappointed, from the gorgeous orca, cheeky seagulls, ship picture, and actual working lighthouse, I was just so happy from start to finish. The many options to switch around the towers/roofs/sea edgings is just ingenious! Thank you so much, what a great build, at a reasonable price. I have built lego for many years, and its ability to make my heart sing is just amazing."

An excellent addition to the mini town set
"I bought this to add to my Grocer/Toy shop set. It has now sparked my kids imaginations and their town is springing up quicker than you could believe. I worked to build this with my 9 year old, she was well able for the details and directions. Can't wait to add to the collection, please make more mini 3-in1 shops please, lego....the modulars are a bit out of our range, and these are perfect child-friendly sets......intricate details and well-thought out constructions."

Beautiful details
"This set was a joy in discovering all the well thought out details for this solitary lodge dweller. My 4&7 year old built it, and couldn't help but stop and gaze at the little writing area, and the very cleverly constructed moose. A delight of a build, not to be underestimated!"
"Don't get me wrong, this is a lovely build, lots of SNOT techniques, giving beautiful clear lines of a build. However, I just didn't love it. It's a little clunky, and just a smidge disappointing that there wasn't even one minifigure, like a proper driver and/or conductor. I think my biggest issue was that I had just gotten renewed Lego enthusiasm having completed the Saturn V build......now that my friends, is a thing of beauty, and I've rebuilt it around 5 times, currently my 9 year old is having a bash. But I've redone this one once, and I'm bored already....it's not difficult or challenging, though the stairs was very intriguing and I might look into doing MOC's using those techniques.
Now one positive for the London Bus, apart from the oft mentioned cuteness of umbrellas, tickets and hidden gum......is that it is sturdy enough for my kids to add random minifig passengers and drive it round the floor without much mishap. They have mastered the separation of the floors/roof quite easily. All told, it's a nice piece for my shelf, but I should possibly think of adding some more Londonness in the Tower Bridge or Big Ben large builds."

Makes me so happy
"I have been so so so so desperate to get hold of this set. The detail is amaaaaaaaazing, the techniques are so interesting. I have built it twice, and I want to do it again. This is pure happiness in a box. Though admittedly I haven't let the kids near it yet.......I'm so afraid they'll break it, but then I don't want to be like the mean Lego Movie dad.....Maybe one day, when I don't mind ordering replacement bits."
