A brilliant Marvel themed Speed Champions set!
" Normally sets like these aren't my kind of thing but I could not ignore Ghost Rider and what is effectively his awesome Charger!
First things first, because it's the most obvious thing here, the car is indeed similar to the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T muscle car from the Speed Champions set (75893) in terms of sizing and shaping as it is the same 6 stud wide format the older Speed Champions sets were. However, Ghost Rider's version is unbranded, has brick side structures instead of layers of plates, has bigger wider wheels front and back, a very aggressive forward rake, less detailed front and rear but simple and effectively formed with silver modified plates for bumpers either ends to act as ramming bumpers if you want and is actually a little bit longer at 17cm without flames (19cm with flames). The stud shooters which also act as a visual presentation of a supercharger is a tad blocky but it is certainly effective and adds greatly to the playability of the model, as though the car is shooting fire from the engine to fire ahead of itself!
The Ghost Rider minifigure is based on the Roberto "Robbie" Reyes depiction and is brilliantly sinister looking with the unique and exclusively menacing head and torso!
The Carnage minifigure looks awesome and the tendrils can come together at the front, so for example Carnage's victims can be captured and held in front!
The Spiderman minifigure is actually mostly new; the torso and head are brand new for the Spiderman sets for 2021 and have a bit more detail to them, like printing on the arms. However, the trade off for these is the leg piece, is the same single coloured piece from the Spiderman Mech set (76146) which is a bit disappointing as the retired Spider-Man Bike Rescue set only cost £2 more and had a dual coloured leg piece in red and blue. Nevertheless, this is still a very detailed minifigure.
Overall, this is a very nice and satisfying set; it is very much a Speed Champions set with Marvel characters and theming, given how the car is similarly scaled to older Speed Champions sets while being priced the same as the newer ones, but with the figures being the focus and that is fine by me! The best value large set around
" I never owned or built the original Black Seas Barracuda set, due to only being one year old, so I do not have any nostalgia for it. But I do agree that it is a beautiful set and the idea of a modern tribute/rendition sounded highly enticing, for old fans and to drawn in newcomers. And this set does not disappoint!
Displaying this next to the Disney Castle, the Pirates of Barracuda Bay set is very big and pretty comparable in overall size to the castle, even when partly discounting the overhangs from the vertical and horizontal masts. It has so much presence whichever form you choose.
The figures, like the ship itself, are remixed modernised variants of the original minifigures from the original set which look brilliant. There is actually three more than the original but they are more than welcome and a nice bonus!
Having built many very large sets over the past year, this is by far the best value of the lot; it offers so many pieces for the amount you pay, with a lot of very large specialised and/or unique parts. And the end result is a very large playset as well as a beautiful and large display set.
Nothing but total satisfaction for this set. "

A brilliant set with major caveats.
" This is the most expensive Lego set I've ever purchased and built and it does partially live up to that, which I'll get back to later on.
This is a fantastically detailed and beautifully designed set and feels bigger than it suggests on paper; it was a very interesting build process to see through to the end. It is cool learning how the keys, as repetitive as they got, are arranged and set up, how the curvy shaping and sides were formed and seeing it all come together is very satisfying.
I already know of the flaws this set has which I will not repeat here. However, my main issue with this set is the price itself and where it is positioned; I actually do understand why it costs as much as it does and it is justified due to the amount of pieces, granted a lot of which are tiny, but there are plenty of unusual ones like the curved pieces as well as a few large pieces, plus the Powered UP motor and hub.
But despite all that and it feeling relatively large, its size pales in comparison to other impressive sets that are not only a lot bigger than this, but also less costly; the Disney Castle and a fellow Ideas set Pirates of Barracuda Bay to name a few, the latter of which is only just over half the price of the Grand Piano and is a lot larger despite having around a third less pieces. They don't have Powered UP functions of course but it gives an idea of what other impressive sets are available. And two very large Harry Potter sets, Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley cost very slightly more.
Make no mistake, the Grand Piano is a fantastic set in its own right and does justify its price, but you have to really want this. And you must also bear in mind that there is a lot of other sets that are equally, if not more fantastic which are less costly as well as bigger, even if personal tastes on themes like Harry Potter and Star Wars will vary.
