Better than I expected
" As an entomologist, I think this Galaxy Squad set looks the coolest because the bug vehicle is anatomically accurate.
The Star Slicer itself looks fantastic! It rests on its body, so there isn't any strain on the legs. There are a lot of Technic elements, which some people dislike, but I think it's a plus; it really helps to get those insectoid angles. Unfortunately there are loads of stickers, but I didn't have too much of a problem with them; they really add to the look of the model because there are so many large pieces that don't have texture on their own. My favorite part about the Star Slicer is the build. There is so much up-side-down and side-ways building that it kept me entertained throughout the build. Kudos to the designers!
The blue team vehicle is pretty nice, too. I'm not that impressed with the look of the attack flier when it's separated, but it's so much fun to play with!
In fact, the whole set is put together to provide hours of fun all on its own. There is a decal on the back of the bug that I pretend is the release mechanism for the cocoon, so the heroes have to either destroy the machine, or sneak up to press the button and release the captured prisoner. It's a blast! "

My first Hero Factory...but probably not my last
" This is my very first Hero Factory set, and I am in love! He is quite a bit bigger than I was expecting. The not-so-new ball-and-socket bones system is excellent. I enjoy being able to customize him by moving the armor pieces around.
The posability has got to be my favorite part. This action figure can do almost anything! The plasma launcher and hero cuffs are just an added bonus.
I had some trouble posing his head at first, but I moved the propellers towards his back and it's a lot better now. The back is kind of bare, espcially when you look at his waist from the side, but from the front he looks awesome!
I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling that I will be picking up some more of these in the future. "

When the stars align...
" When the stars align, you get an extremely well designed LEGO set that exceeds all expectations. Enter the TIE Fighter.
The minifigures are superb. Okay, so I was a little disappointed with the TIE Pilot's face. Since it's printed on a black head his face comes across as quite pale. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Death Star Trooper has a secondary face that has goggles on. Nice touch.
However, the actual architecture of the starfighter is what really sings to me. You would almost think that they designed a bunch of pieces specifically for this craft, except that there are no new pieces (except for the R5 head and the Death Star trooper's helmet, but those aren't part of the fighter). The way the wing borders and the wing struts line up is remarkable. The connection between the top and bottom wing borders is genius in that they're sideways built, but they also stabilize the wings. Genius. It just all falls into place perfectly.
The cockpit doesn't have as much genius as the wings, but it is still really good. Lots more pieces for detail than prievious fighters, like the TIE Interceptor. That probably accounts for the higher price. But that's fine by me. The cockpit has some really strong support for the wings, so they aren't as wobbly as the predecessors. Awesome!
Additionally, there are NO stickers. YES!!! And another detail that I like is that at the end of the instructions it has the names of all the characters; really handy for those crazy astromech droid designations.
Last word: who needs Ultimate Collector's Series when the system sets are this good!? "

Great for role-playing
" This set is amazing! There are plenty of play features if you're big on acting out stories with your minifigures. The moving actions are really limited down to:
Rotating turrets (top and bottom)
Opening hull plates
Slide-out gunner seats
Smuggling compartment
Boarding ramp (pretty lame -- it might as well not be there)
Flick-fire missiles (difficult because the ship is so heavy)
Detachable landing gear (which are basically only detachable so you can fire the missiles because they're a bit tedious to remove, and the ship doesn't look much better without them when you're swooshing it)
But with the dejarik holochess table, medbay beds, computer console, engines and something that I can only guess is supposed to be the place where Han and Leia kiss, there is so much for your minifigures to do inside. This potential for role-playing is where this set really shines.
The minifigures are excellent. I don't get why so many people are upset about Darth Vader in this set. It makes sense to me because it gives an adversary, thus adding to the playability of this set. Would R2-D2 and C-3PO have been nice? Yeah, but I already have 3 R2-D2s, so I'm okay with them leaving him out. My biggest complaint is that Luke doesn't have a happy face, but I can replace his head with other Luke heads I have. His new hair is awesome, and there is a little cone piece to store his helmet or his hair, whichever he isn't wearing.
I totally recommend this set to any Star Wars fan, especially if you are like myself and have been without a LEGO Millennium Falcon all these years.
P.S. It's pretty heavy, so maybe younger kids would have a harder time enjoying it. "

Some neat tricks
" I had to get this set because I bought the Battle of Endor set when it first came out, and have been pining for more Ewoks ever since. Needless to say, the minifigures in this set are awesome.
For such a small amount of pieces, there are a surprising number of functions including the rolling logs, catapult, trip wire thing and a hiding place.
I really like the speeder bike. They added a little technic piece at the end of the forward prongs to hold them together which is an awesome idea. My friends played with my other speeder bike and bent the prongs outward by crashing it into the leg of a chair. With the added technic piece in this set that won't happen again. Very clever.
Somebody else expressed their disappointment that the scout trooper doesn't have a special gun. I agree. They should have given the Scout Trooper the type of small gun that came with Captain Rex or the Clone Walker Battle Pack.
The playability is pretty good, but I think the minifigures are THE reason to get this set. If Ewoks don't tickle your fancy, pass this one up. But then, if Ewoks don't tickle your fancy you're probably not even reading these reviews :) "
