"Purchased this set as a 6th birthday present for my nephew and he couldn't be more thrilled with it! Fairly difficult to think of a set in this price range that is this "play" worthy. Many of the sets this size include some pretty weak elements to play on their theme, but this one does a good job of packing a lot of fun into a small package at a good value."
"Great set! I was one the fence about this one for a moment but then just decided to pull the trigger due to how much I've enjoyed the rest of the series... I'm so glad I did! I love the skyline series and this is a great addition. There's actually a lot more than meets the eye at first glance, and the design is rather clever and extremely sturdy. While some aren't into the 3D "forced perspective" nature of the Golden Gate Bridge, it works quite well and looks better than you'd expect once assembled. Plenty of intricate details in this set more than make up for that one minor detail if you're on the fence like I was! Grab it, you won't regret it!"
"I'd originally skipped over this set in the skyline series, mostly due to the inclusion of the Wynn... I just feel like that's far from one of the "iconic" landmarks of Las Vegas... Then Christmas came, and I received the set as a gift.
While the other buildings are also nicely done, the real star here is the Bellagio... Very clever design and build technique. Kudos to the designer(s) on that one specifically. Overall, this was a fun set and another solid addition to the skyline series."
"I started off a bit apprehensive about this build but it quickly got to be more fun. After constructing the ship - which is quite small and delicate - You start in on the bottle, which starts with tons of small-as-possible clear parts. For example, they'll use a bunch of 2x1 pieces to create an 8x1, instead of just including an 8x1 piece. To me, that artificially bumps up the piece count (on a set that already has 284 clear blue pieces to make the "water") and, more importantly, keeps the final product less stable and harder to get perfectly aligned. The set should probably be no more than $50 tops, but in the end it was a fun build that looks great on display so it's hard to complain. Just note that to make any adjustments to the ship or anything like that, you're looking at a bit of an ordeal, getting back into and then rebuilding the bottle."
"After visiting London a couple years ago, this set kept calling me, and I finally decided to pick it up. I'm glad I did; it's a pretty nice set. I'd definitely prefer moving away from stickers to printed specialty parts for multiple reasons - and this set is fairly heavy with the use of stickers - but they are good quality and look nice when applied properly. I just don't like that messing up a sticker can take away from the final product... Not a big deal to me stopping to take a couple extra minutes- but a potential serious issue for younger builders and even adults with even the slightest dexterity or vision issues, etc."
"Another great set for the Architecture line! In a city where picking the buildings to include would be nearly impossible, they've done a great job of recreating these. Chicago's a blast and this set reminds me of roaming around downtown the first few times I visited. Glad they included the bridge - It was crossing that bridge I first had to stop and take a picture of the beautiful view!"
"What a great set! Having walked on top of the Sydney Tower and slapped the "W" in the Westfield sign, putting this set together was a little extra fun!
Sydney's really a beautiful city. This set reminds me of spending time around Sydney Harbor, enjoying mind-blowing seafood along with my view of the bridge, followed by drinks at the Opera House. It's a great tribute to a fantastic city!"
"Fun little set with some clever design features here. I especially like this set because of the landmarks chosen... In a city with tons to pick from, these were the ones that really stuck with me after visiting London a couple years ago. A great trip, and now a great set to remind me of it!"
"Honestly, this is a great little set, but the issue I had with it was that instead of numbered bags to go building by building, this set is packaged in several bags of totally mixed up parts. On sets that are this small in size, it's a lot of very small pieces (1x1's, 2x1's, etc) and the build could've been way more enjoyable had they just been packaged 1 or 2 bags per building.
That said, don't hesitate to pick up this set for yourself or as a gift... I received mine as a gift and I must admit it's a great addition to the Architecture lineup! While a few reviewers don't like the Statue of Liberty mini figure, personally, I think it's a quirky/fun touch by Lego. Speaking of the Statue of Liberty, that might have to be my next set. :)
I would add videos, but once again, the website turns my pics sideways. :|"
"Plenty of reviews and pics on this set already, but I must say it's really an exceptional set. I wish all LEGO sets were priced like this one. It's an awesome value, and the design is truly remarkable.
Early on in the build, I thought the Saturn V might not be all that impressive, but boy, was I wrong. What started off a bit awkward quickly took off into an extremely stable, extremely impressive and accurate final product. For the price, it's hard to argue that this isn't the best-priced LEGO set on the market. It's that good. And it's MASSIVE!
I'd love to see more of these sets that are both priced this well, and that rival actual model building when it comes to the final result. LEGO's really firing on all cylinders lately, and this set may be the best example of it yet.
Just like Voltron... Give me more of this quality at this price point, and I'll be back over and over!"
