Summer sale Sensation!
" Took the long way back home from the beach with my son through the shopping mall and found this little gem. I had been looking at it before, but the price was a little too high, given what you get if - let's say - you buy one of the city starter sets. Both me and my son are big fans of minifigs, and since this set just contains two - even though they're well done - minifigs compared to 3-4 in the starter sets, we had taken it out of the shelves before but also been putting it back in favor for another, cheaper yet more populated set.
This time, however, a bargain at 10 €, we bought it (+ another identical set for as a back up for someone's future birthday party).
We enjoyed building it, though my 4 yo had a hard time building the minor details, but with a little help we could soon start playing.
The helicopter was sturdier than I initially thought it would be, and survived a couple of collisions. The exploding piece of machinery was a hit with my son, who enjoyed placing Scarecrow on top of it before pressing the button.
In all a very nice set, and especially at discount price. "

An OK set, that makes sense
" The set itself isn't that special. The vehicles are on the silly side and the minifigs are what they are.
What I like about this set though is that the pairing of Thor and Loke makes sense. Some of these set seems to throw in quite random characters that are quite hard to make a scenario about. "

Get the Jungle Party Started!
" Found this one on discount in my local K-market in January (just 8 €) and couldn't resist it.
The minifigures and the animals are all very well executed pieces of art. My son, who tends to play "police and thieves" with all his sets, thankfully gave it up for this one, and we played a game of exploration and adventure.
The hovercraft (right?) is well made and the son liked that there is room for all the minifigs onboard. The wooden box is really good for storing the items. "

Pricey and a bit limited
" IF you've a lot of the beachthemed stuff - the coast guard sets - and need some extras this is an OK expansion.
If you, like me, have a more city/superheroes-oriented theme to your sets, this product is a bit "off". The pieces and figures are funny, no doubt, but it is hard to integrate. I would rather recommend "Fun in the park - City People Pack - 60134" which was easier to work in to my sets.
Another downside is the price. I wouldn't mind if they would have cut back on the equipment/toys to get the price down to, let's say 30 € (like forementioned set). The people packs should focus on the minifigures. "

Good fun, but a glitch in design
" I bought this set for my son, who is obsessed with everything Spiderman. Though the set and the theme is a bit too "adult" (he's 3 yo) me and my wife decided to go along with it, just because he is so fond of Spiderman. We made a decision that he can only play it together with me (win-win) and that we would remove the weapons and the "blasts".
The set itself is really funny and well-made, but not without a couple of design missteps. Yes, the yellow pieces at the back are a pain in the eyes, but worse is that the ATM trigger on the ATM to the right doesn't work properly. After kid had ruined the building ten times or more, I decided to redesign it, by taking away the switch all together. The ATM can still flip over, by a slight push by finger, but the previous design that caused the building to break and the lever to flip the whole building is gone.
This is my son's favourite LEGO-set, he can play with the mini-figures, the bike and "the wreckage" for enough time for me to cook him a meal. For me, however, the set is a bit one-dimensional, and I would appreciate it more if it would fit more in to the LEGO City line. "

Excellent compliment and play set
" I've got a three-year old son, and he has quickly grown out of his Duplo sets. He has a huge interest in Lego and especially the Superhero-themed sets, which has been both a positive and negative experience for me as a parent.
The upside is that me myself is in to Marvel and DC comics, but the downside is that those sets are generally focused on solving problems by violence (even though I tend to "clean up" the sets from guns).
This Christmas however, I went and bought this set even though the son rather wanted the Spiderman/Ironman/Shocker/Vulture one. Let's give it a try...
And it was a success. The building phase was great fun - even though some of the pieces, like the bicycle and the wheelchair might be a bit tricky even for a 5 yo.
The playing was even better. It was fantastic to see how quickly he designated roles and characters to the minifigures and we made some really funny scenarios. We ended up playing a who's-who game, with me asking questions like, "I'm the old man, and I'm looking for my grandchild who wears blue trousers and has fair hair, where is he?"
This is a great buy in both terms of value and playing oppurtunities. "
