Cool Car!
" Found this surprisingly looking for the Mack Anthem. Somehow missed this set watching the pre-release videos. Got to say this is one cool car. Thing is SUPER wide! It's probably 2 inches wider than the AROCS truck. Very cohesive build. Looks really good. Nothing fancy, just a nice looking set. Cool mid engine V-6 design. Full independent suspension, and a trick trunk opening mechanism. "

Possibly the best set ever.
" All I can really say is this is possibly the best set ever made for Technic.
I honestly have nothing bad to say about this set.
The body has the look of a pick-up with a campershell on it. The front end is designed very well, with lots of transparent elements used for lighting details. It has a push bar with 4 huge off road lights. A cool winch in the bumper.
Open the hood and there sits a huge V-8 engine, with a nice hood bulge. I thought it may be a hood scoop, but it has a snorkel air cleaner on the right rear.
Open the doors; which in themselves are the coolest doors I had seen in the 13 sets I built so far, and check out one the the best looking interior setups I have seen yet. There is a shifter and guage cluster. As a side note, the doors use a suspension coil over spring for a detent so the doors are literally spring loaded.
A hand of God knob behind each door operates the winch and lifts the top of the campershell. Each side of the shell has an opening door storing adverturing items. At the rear of the truck, again excellent use of transparent lenses to depict the various tail/stop/turn lights, and, such a small but completely awesome detail, a set of twin chrome exhaust tips on each side.
Turn the spare road wheel, and it unlocks the rear door! A slight cargo area, and a handle, which when pulled opens a storage compartment for the most realistic shovel you can imagine! There are work lights each side rear of the camper, and 4 of the most legit fuel cans that about 20 elements each of Lego can build. Also spare track shoes are stored, and two whip antennas are here. Looking at the chassis, it is represented very well with differentials, driveshaft, and axles to drive the awesome snow-studded tracks! A nice feature is the use of chrome parts to add some flash to the coil springs. And the whole truck sits on FULLY independent suspension.
As I said before, there is not one thing I don't like about this model. If the Flagship was the 42070, somebody dropped the ball so bad on that that they surely made up for it with the 069.

Could have been better..
" Waited for a few months to get this set. Was so excited when I finally got it. I was about the build the largest Technic set made to date!
Has a huge manual. Nicely bound and excellent printing.
Stickers were die cut very well and looked first rate.
Bags were numbered according to build stage:
Bag 1 builds the dump truck and has the material for play.
Bag 2 builds the superstructure frame.
Bag 3 builds the tracks.
Bag 4 builds the supports.
Bag 5 builds the discharge conveyor.
Bag 6 builds the digging wheel and conveyor.
Bag 7 builds the body.
Bag 8 builds the accessories.
The dump truck is quite a piece unto itself. It made for a nice warm up. Nice color, HOG steering, manual dump feature. Nice detailing. Pretty good scaling compared to the Excavator.
Now it's time for the bread and butter. 490 pages of instruction to build this beast. After a couple of days I was done. Nothing too difficult. Just a few instances of monotonous building, mainly putting together 204 track shoes for the vehicle tracks and conveyor belts. Once built it is pretty impressive. And then it's time to power it up. This is where the disappointment comes in.
For the largest Technic set, they chose to use only 1 XL motor. And this motor works for a bit over 100 gears. The functions are switched using levers and synchros. Because of the one motor, you can only either jave it move back and forst via the tracks, or rotate, and when rotating, the bucket wheel has to turn, but the bucket won't turn with the tracks engaged. After having the set build for a few months, it won't even really work now. Something has jambed up so it just spins the clutch. I think with a couple of motors, this could have been fixed. The functionality of the set is just substandard. The set displays very well, but the playability is in question. I think in a few years if they redesign and reissue this unit, hopefully they address the immense overuse of the single motor.
Overall I like the set, but there is just too much going on for one motor. It kind of disappoints.

Awesome Set
" Great set, looks amazing as a display set. Don't really play with it but could imagine stepping on some Rebel figs and kicking some stuff around. Awesome detailing. Room for a couple figs inside, and has some storage areas. Good selection of figs. "

What are they thinking?
" I bought this set along with the Extreme Adventure. I was excited for months to get this set. All the pictures and videos hyped it up so much. A full remote PF set, which hasn't been seen on a large set since the Volvo loader.
Getting into the build it was usual for a large set. One thing that baffled me was the use of so many different colors on the frame. This was the first set I was missing a piece from. Once the building was done, I took it for a little spin. It moves as fast as the Volvo loader, but that's where the similarity stops. The selector switches are complete garbage. I actually thought I was going to snap them off. I was able to find the lever down under the cab and switch it there. Using one remote, you only get 1/4 of the functions at a time. Forward/reverse and left right. Switch a lever and you get outriggers and crane up/down, same lever and it's winch/crane rotation.
As far as looks, this is a nice looking set, reminds me of a 5-ton Army truck. Good selection of headlights, tail/marker, and caution lights. But, really, this set is lacking on so many areas. The interior is garbage, the bed area is open and looks unfinished. I could go on but other reviews may point them out. Guessing the designer took a sick leave and the Janitor finished up this project. Hopefully this is an exception and not a new standard..

Nice display set
" This set seems more geared toward display, which is does very well. The exterior is pretty detailed. Flip open the panels and the entire inside is available. I pretty much use it to store about 20 minifigs from the 13 other sets I have. (I actually just starting building the Star Wars models after starting with Technic. I am completely addicted to these, doing 13 sets in the last 6 weeks.)
This was the first Star Wars set I built, so it's a little fuzzy, maybe I can edit this and do a better review later . It's defiantly a nice way to start up a collection, or add to what you have.

JAWAS!!!
" Small, simple set with some cool figures. Model is built well. Displays well. The Jawas were the only reason I really bought it. The droid crane is simply effective. The Tusken Raider is also pretty cool. After building most of the larger 600-1400 piece sets, it was nice to just do a simple and fun set like this.. And, it has the JAWAS!!! I'm thinking about buying a couple more just to get those little guys.. "
