A good train set, 8.5/10
" Overall, this is a good set, and a good build. It is my first Lego train. The build is very straightforward and offers little challenge, especially as it is broken into 7 bags. This is okay, as it is not meant to be challenging, it is designed to be able to be built by 6 year olds.
The aesthetic of the train is fantastic, I think it looks great, the colours work well, and it is nice to see a change from the white and red we've seen in the passenger trains for a while now. The interior is slightly disappointing as there are only 4 seats for passengers, and the buffet car feels a bit empty. However, I like to think of it as a luxury train, with spacious areas for passengers, and the highest level of comfort. And you can't really fit in many more seats as it is, without loosing the aisle and tables. So for what is realistic, I think it does fine.
More track pieces, as always, would not go astray, but I suppose to keep the price vaguely realistic we can't have too many pieces. Having said that, it is $200 (AUD) for 600 something pieces; that's almost the same price as a 2000+ piece creator expert modular building. The power functions and tracks obviously cost more than your average brick, but I still think that the price is a bit much for what is meant to be the basic train set.
The new power functions are really great, I have heard several complaints that it is hard to use, but I found it quite the opposite. It is really straight forward and intuitive to use, there are five possible channels to use on each controller, and you can have two motors running on each channel through the two ports. So that means you can run two trains with one controller, and 10 trains all at once. And you can use a smart-device to run the train(s) if you wish, with sound effects. One downside to the power functions is that the motor battery isn't very efficient, it runs down quite quickly.
Overall, it is a good set, not great value for money, but worth it I think. Now we just need a proper train station! "

A fantastic set!
" The Brick Bank does not disappoint! It has everything that you could ask for in a bank set, and it looks superb! The outside aesthetic is just fantastic, it has possibly the best architecture of any modular yet! Everything about the bank building gives a feeling of opulence and wealth, from the exquisite detailing and pillars on the outside to the gold trimming and crystal chandelier on the inside. The vault is great, with the piles of cash and deposit boxes, and I like how the manager's office overlooks the lobby in a typical fashion. The laundromat has also been done very well, it looks just like any you would see in movies or TV.
I love the play features of the set, its worth noting that the "money laundering" mechanism is especially entertaining, as is the chimney that leads to the vault!
The only downsides that I can think of are that it could include another minifigure, maybe a normal person as a laundromat customer, and that it does feel a bit small, with the 2nd floor only 3/4th of its possible size, and only 1/2 of it is really used in detail. In comparison, the Detective's Office has 1st and 2nd floor fully utilised, and 3rd floor 1/2 utilised. It is worth noting though, that the Brick Bank has a larger floor space as it is a corner building that extends all the way to the back corner, and although it looks smaller than other modulars (it is the shortest one yet, but not by much), it is one of the most impressive looking, probably mainly because of its fantastic exterior.
All in all, its definitely a 10/10 set, they've really done well with this modular and I don't have any real complaints! "
