"I got this Mustang as a gift with purchase a while ago and at first it sat in a pile of "to be built" sets but I'm kicking myself that I didn't build it earlier, because it's great.
I'd always thought that the Speed Champions series looked a little overpriced for what they were but after building this I realise where the money is going. It's robust enough to be played with by the kids without breaking every couple of minutes but also detailed enough to be a good display piece.
After building this I went out and picked up 3 more Speed Champions cars and I'm sure anyone who bought this would do the same.
My only negatives across this and the other sets in the series (and it's a personal one that I know some people don't share) is that the "extra" bits are a bit of a nothing. On this set the timing board, whilst nice really doesn't add anything and on some of the larger sets there's a lot of add on bits that aren't needed.
I also think that there are a lot of stickers to be applied in these and it would be better to go for more printed pieces. Understandably this would add to the cost, but maybe by doing away with the extra bits the cost could even up?
Overall this is a great build and whilst I enjoyed building it, the true sign of success was the enjoyment my sons got from it when they got up in the morning and found it waiting for them."
"I couldn’t resist building this immediately after the Camaro, Ferrari and Mustang Speed Champions sets.
It’s exactly what you’d expect again from the Speed Champions sets, well built, nice detail, customisable parts and a few too many stickers!
The two configuration options definitely makes you want to have two sets so you can sit them side by side, and depending on when you're reading this, Argos are selling it in their 2 for £15 offer. So why not get two!
Great build again and a hit with my two sons when they found it waiting for them this morning. Great playability given how robust it is."
"I've now built the Ford Mustang, Ferrari F40 and Ford Fiesta WRC Speed Champions sets recently and I’ve become a bit obsessed with the series.
As with the other Speed Champions sets this Camaro feels like a solid build and has some great features, although the stickers gets a little fiddly at times and there are too many in my opinion. Would be nice to see more printed bricks / pieces. Whilst this would add to the set costs I personally think it would be worth it.
The detail of the roll cage is nice and authentic but when the kids are "playing" with it, it tends to come off on one end a lot. That said, it remains a nice feature.
Minifigure is great as is the fuel filler, with a nice detail adding the brick to the rear quarter of the car so you can actually connect it.
Great build again and now working out which Speed Champions set to buy next. Check out my other Speed Champions reviews if you're considering buying any of the sets, or alternatively, buy one anyway, you wont be disappointed."
"It's hard not to love this from the moment you take a look at the box and see BB-8 staring back at you.
As someone who always wished they'd bought the R2-D2 set when it came out it was a no-brainer to build this little droid.
The build was enjoyable, involved, occasionally tricky and a couple of times felt a little repetitive; but the 2 and a bit hours when pretty quickly and to see him take shape bag by bag was great.
The external appearance hides the level of complexity and mechanics going on inside brilliantly, and the movement the mechanics create are very nicely done.
The easy option would have been to have the head rotate only, however the additional effort the design team have gone to to create the authentic BB-8 head movement is well worth it and it's the first thing people comment on when they see it in action.
The scale of the model is perfect for display, and the stand, info sticker and mini BB-8 make it a great shelf display piece for any collector (dusting it in the coming weeks and months won't be so much fun).
In terms of playability, this isn't one the kids will be spending hours with, but then that isn't really the point with this one. It's on a slightly higher than normal shelf keeping it out of the reach of little fingers, although mini BB-8 seems to have gone missing, perhaps to a galaxy far far away!
If you buy it and build it, you'll love it ..... and I challenge you to walk past it without giving the head a little wobble!"
"I'm the first to admit that the cost of the Jurassic World sets had put me off a little before I bought this one and, whilst they're still a little higher than I would expect (probably down to licensing costs) the set represents decent value for money.
As the father of two dinosaur mad young boys this felt like a good choice for our family build time. It worked out well with one sons building the three minifigures whilst the other build the T-Rex; leaving me with the transport.
The T-Rex is a good size and was an instant hit with my sons who enjoyed the positive feel of the connectors which were strong enough to withstand play without falling apart and not too strong to stop them dismantling and rebuilding it themselves.
The transport truck has some great features and the addition of the robust support stand on the trailer means that each element has good independent playability as well as when together as a single unit.
The drop sides and locking elements on the trailer are nicely done, although unlocking the four corners seems a little excessive. A single or two locking points would have been sufficient and in fact only one on each side of ours now gets "locked".
The trailer and truck work well with the Jurassic World theme but also outside of dinosaur based play. Ours has already been used as a car transporter, bin lorry, dumper truck and brick carrier!
Our only complaint on the truck is around how tight it is to get your minifigure driver into the cab. Doors may have helped but it's still quite tight for space, especially with his cap on; which normally gets knocked off and has to be shaken out in our house!
The minifigures (3 of) are good, match the set well and include decent accessories; and the baby dinosaur is a nice addition.
All in all a good set with the stand out piece being the large T-Rex which I suspect will be the thing that gets played with the most in our house.
Nice work."

"It's easy to throw out merchandise to link in with a film release or with other endorsement tie-ins and get it wrong; but this isn't one of those times. I only have a couple of Lego Movie 2 sets (this and Benny's Space Squad) so far but they've been exceptional and I'll be buying more as a result.
The temptation to create vehicles with large moulded pieces has been avoided and the Offroader element was an involved and enjoyable build which feels sturdy and robust enough for children (of all ages) to play with, as well as looking good enough to earn a place on collectors display shelves.
The raptor is another solid piece, continuing the tradition of the dinosaurs introduced in the Jurassic World sets and are equally as playable.
The mini figures are, well - great, but that could be my affection for Emmett and Rex coming through, and with both having reversible heads the playability again goes up as storytelling becomes easier.
For once there seem to be sufficient spare "projectiles" to ensure that the kids spend more time playing and less time hunting under the sofa for missing bullets (although I will be under there later today on recovery duty I'm sure)
All in all an enjoyable set to build for me, and great set for my two sons to play with.
Now, which Lego Movie 2 Set should I buy next?"
